Worst place ever, mgmt should be ashamed of themselves

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFree snacks, nice break room, great , smart, friendly engineers (although most quit or got laid off already)

ConsEverything. Underpay and overwork employees. Expect zero work life balance. Micro managing and clueless management. Sets unrealistic goals and expect employees to do it or get threatened with layoff. No sense of vision or direction. Blame game all the time on anything that goes wrong is always on the workers, not management. No training, everyone is replaceable. Monthly out of the blue layoffs. No raises or bonuses despite promises.

In last few months, all the smart wonderful people have quit. They continue to layoff random people as well. It's basically a skeleton crew now of people who are looking for other jobs or are anticipating the next layoff cycle.

Advice to Senior ManagementDoesn't matter what advise you give them, you are wrong they are right.

Oh and stop posting fake reviews, we know it's you guys giving yourselves 5 stars

This is the worse place to work in Los Angeles

    Programmer (Former Employee)
    Culver City, CA

Pros- Low level employees are friendly and as supportive as they can be while still being able to deal with crushing blows from middle and upper management
    - They pay decently (but not really once you consider how much personal time you have to sacrifice)

ConsEverything - the culture is terrible - it's an us versus them mentality between middle/upper management and everyone else. The upper management is totally out of touch with reality and expect their employees to give up impossible amounts of personal time for little to no reward. There is not much opportunity to move up and lots of nepotism when the opportunity does come up. Working at this company was literally the worse year of my life.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo really take all of these negative reviews to heart and make some changes (this will never ever happen though as long as long as their CEO (Chris Siatta) is in charge.

    Highly Political Work Environment

    Developer (Current Employee)
    Irvine, CA

Pros- Good company for newbie or who has less than 5 years of experience.
    - Flexible working hours.
    - Free food.
    - Using few good technologies in projects.
    - If you are politically sound then this is the company for you where you can grow rapidly in minimum time.

Cons- Politically high working environment. If some reason you are not going along with seniors( who are working with equator for long time, doesn't matter how good they are or how many years of experience they have or how good they are in technologies/domain) and managers then you will struggle all the time. This is at every level (Developers to higher management).
    - People gets recognized by 'how good they have contacts' not by the skill sets or how strong you are technically.
    - There are groups within teams and they support each other very well, so if you are not part of a group then you will have tough time.
    - Husband/Wife, Brother/Sister, Friend/Friend are working in same team/group/project.
    - If you have more than 10 years of experience then this company is not for you.

Advice to Senior ManagementNone. They know what they are doing.

    Horrible Work Environment

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsNone to think of. The people who work here are friendly and eager to learn, but no training.

    ConsNo career advancement
    No work life balance
All top positions taken by friends and family of management team, but no skills or experience
So they get their own dept. this makes no sense.
Office opened in new locations, such as Seattle to find new employees who have not heard the bad reviews for this place. Offended LA Tech community by firing so many that there are no more here in LA to hire. so constantly opening new offices. It is not an expansion of this co. The constant firing of employees and contractors leaves no one to work on the projects.
All employees are treated as replaceable, faceless people.
100% turn over rate, forced employees to participle in some survey. Most did not participate. After the survey, management team wanted to know who wrote the negative comments. Total witch hunt. Management team kept suspecting innocent employees.
    Whole co. Is micro managed
Dept. heads would monitor personal conversations and use things in personal vendettas.
The people who run my dept. are like high school mean girls, used politically incorrect jokes, made false accusations about random employees, used meetings to gossip and whine about their personal lives. Tired of hearing about their bad marriages and rotten kids.
Work is depressing, weird, upsetting... Expecting to be Punked at any moment by Aston Kutcher.
Management likes to yell at meetings and hallways. And blame their own incompetence on the lower level employees that do all the work. Most management have no college degree or formal training...the blind leading the blind. No tech experience necessary to run tech co.
Employees afraid and come to work in bad moods, expecting to be fired next.
Sr. Management spent all day at hotel for their meetings every few months to make changes and nothing changes.
For a tech co., nothing is automated. All programs and computers are so old. It's like the Fred Flintstone of Tech Co.

    Driven by Greed

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Los Angeles, CA

ProsThe creative and talented people who work there. These people actually do the work.

ConsJust chaotic, Sr. Management doesn't knows what they are doing. They are all motivated by greed and public image. Their secret strategy is to do the work for any company for free, then ask them to pay later, well...that back fired, when the client racked up millions of dollars and just won't pay. Then they decided to cut the bill in half and then the client still would not pay. It's funny, but then you think of all the hard working people who work there.

Also, they are so cheap. They decided not to subsidize the increasing medical premiums, they could just change the medical co, instead...a Sr. Management staff decided to keep the over priced medical because his friend would not make a commission if the company change the medical insurance company. So now the employees are stuck paying the high priced premiums.

This place is a nightmare and at every turn the people who own this company will stick it to their own employees. Then wonder why the turn over rate is so high.

Advice to Senior ManagementShame on you, you are so greedy!

Could be better with some reasonable changes.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat potential to move forward in the market. Some really good people, that just need opportunity to get outside the box.

ConsLong hours, short deadlines, mismanaged projects, the usual stuff that negatively impacts projects. Lack of communication and employee engagement.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in creating a culture that will make this a nice place to work. This is not a career shop, it is just a paycheck until we get burned out or something better comes along.

So much potential, but the same mistakes prevent success

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Pros-there are some very talented people to collaborate with (if they stick around for a while)
-decent snacks and a game room in the HQ
-lots to learn, if you're willing to do it yourself

Cons-poor management from top to bottom
    -long hours for some positions
-mistakes are repeatedly made, mostly because "that's just the way we do it here"
-increased incompetence at all levels, no structured intra-department mentoring or training
-complete lack of direction and vision

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't just tell your employees you care, show them with proper management of people, time and money
