Pros
Good Benefits. Good paid time off.
Cons
not enough chance for advancement in some areas of the company
Advice to Senior Management
provide more opportunities for advancement
Pros
- Benefits
- Vacation Days
- People
- Discounts
Cons
- Senior Management is ignorant of the conditions of operations and sales or just don't care
- Severe Cronyism
Advice to Senior Management
Stop caring about "appearances". They are backfiring and destroying revenue for the company. Stop & Listen to low-level employees!
Pros
Equifax has good benefits, decent salaries, and clean, convenient office locations.
Cons
The company is severely understaffed, with many broken systems and processes. Senior management appears to be clueless or apathetic as to how to run the company, and does not respect the contributions of lower-level employees. There are restructurings every year that cause even more silos and confusion. Senior leaders cling to LEAN methodology to drive out costs and inefficiencies for everything except top heavy hiring. Current hiring consists of more senior management, but very few line employees to do the heavy lifting. The focus now seems to be on "looking good," but not showing actual skill or results.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior leadership could benefit from a huge dose of humility. Listen to and reward line staff. Treat them the way you'd want to be treated at that level in your career. In addition, many of the senior level positions are simply redundant (particularly in sales and marketing) and should be eliminated. Instead of paying huge salaries for little work output, reinvest into the systems and processes necessary to run the business more efficiently.
Pros
Good people, some investment in professional development
Cons
Corporate bureaucracy, investment in ideas outside the credit zone
Advice to Senior Management
Better due diligence on M&A activities
Pros
Pay is fair
Benefits are good
Cons
If you work in IT then you will not have any free time. After you design a solution and the product is live in production, you will be responsible for operations. The TCS and IBM offshore teams cannot handle operations and managment will call you 24x7 365 days a week. There is alot of cronyism within Equifax management. Alot of the IT managers were friends from GE and Accenture.
Advice to Senior Management
HR please listen to your employees. Cronyism with the Equifax management is causing alot of good employees to walk out the door.
Pros
Equifax is a large company and has good benefits. Equifax has decent technology and really good people for the most part.
Cons
Large company. States that it is a meritocracy; however, if you do a great job and exceed expectations, it might be "calibrated" down to meets expectations. Communication is often, but it's sometimes what they want the employees to hear. Location is in midtown which is not great for someone in the northern suburbs.
Pros
Good people to work with.
Cons
The leadership needs to be improved.
Pros
Equifax maintains a great worklife balance. I have been given a great deal of opportunity to show my capabilies and develop new ones. Initially I was worried about working for a smaller company, but I have found it to be a big family.
Cons
Although the long tenure of many of the associates shows that this is a great company, many people may be "stuck" in their ways.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to do what you are doing. Challenge the status quo. Maybe relax & empower the associates to work more remotely, given certain qualifications (tenure, performance, connectivity, etc...).
Pros
Application learning, concern about employees family
Cons
Everyone you know ask you about all types of credit issues.
Pros
Having the Equifax name on your resume'
Cons
There is absolutely no training. When it comes to promotions, it's know what you know...it's not even who you know - it's who likes you. Sharing of information is minimal. For a technology information company, it leaves a lot to be desired
Advice to Senior Management
Bet it together
