Current Employee – been working at Equinox Fitness
Pros – Hitting monthly and biweekly bonus is a joke to do...so easy to make over 70k as tier 3 or tier3+
Cons – too many trainers work there.....
Advice to Senior Management – Maximize monthly revenue by filling up your tier 3 and tier 4 trainers schedules completely before passing leads to tier 1 and 2 who can't articulate anything for their life...Equinox brand sells training not their skills set.

Former Employee – worked at Equinox Fitness full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Sexy, fun environment with a great clientele and a commitment to truly be the best in the business
Cons – Poor work life balance especially at the end of the month when many employees are required to work 3-4 12+hour days. Compensation isn't always in line with amount of work and effort provided by employees. Not bad, but maybe not always as good as it should be for hours worked.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to continue to find a way to prevent turn over in employee base, specifically in personal training staff and sales team and in club personal. Corporate retention is much stronger. There's a reason for that.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Equinox Fitness full-time for less than a year
Pros – Nice gym... That's about it!
Cons – Employees for starters are mostly elitist like the rich and mostly white customers and are very high schoolish at that. So many cliques. The employee turn-around is bad at this place. I've never seen so many people leave, quit or fired. I've always seen a new employee every week, every other week, every month. The maintenance department has it worse than any other if you ask me. They are treated like lower class citizens and most of the people who work in maintenance are non-speaking citizens. They work you like a hebrew slave while most of the other people like the shop keep, cafe and even the front desk people are standing there chatting away while getting paid to do absolutely nothing. It's good to know that people get paid to do nothing there while the maintenance crew are working their butt off! The pay is also bad with the amount of work that has to be done. Upper management are just pathetic just to put it mildly. If you want a career at this place, you better look elsewhere 'cause you're pretty much SOL in the end when they toss you out in the streets.
Advice to Senior Management – There is none, because Equinox will find a way to get rid of them! C'est la vie!

Current Employee – been working at Equinox Fitness
Pros – The company is very forward thinking and stays ahead of the curb on all things related to the health club industry. The benefits are fantastic, they pay is very competitive. They provide constant support for personal and career growth. Not a lot of micro-management, as long as your are performing to the standard. Lots of freedom and flexibility. Fun and energetic environment.
Cons – The hours can be long at times since it is a sales driven environment, so when things are down you need to be there to pick it back up. There can sometimes be breaks in communication and inconsistency.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the good work. It think there needs to be a little more support from upper management in making sure that there is consistency with information distributed throughout the club. Overall, I really couldn't think of anywhere else I'd want to be.

Former Employee – worked at Equinox Fitness
Pros – The best thing about Eqx is that the schedule is flexible, I pretty much worked all the hours I wanted to work and took as many days off as I wanted. You also get free access to the fitness centers and the friends you can make there are very helpful as they are trainers who can help you with your fitness goals free of charge. You also get 50% everything in the store.
Cons – There is hardly any opportunity for a raise, when it was brought up it was pretty much ignored. You have to work alone sometimes for 12 hour shifts and that gets very tiresome. There is not enough recognition for the work you do.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep conversation professional please, especially toward women.
