    Pros

    Good money, good quality gym

    Cons

Membership advisor position is miserable, they mine you for contacts until you can't provide anymore, then throw you out

I worked at Equinox Fitness full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Amazing facilities, and members, great equipment and environment. Floor shifts are counter-productive to filling your schedule.

    Cons

Working with many inexperienced recent grads that can't sell, seeing them burn many good leads. As with many companies, mediocre staff are kept on for complying and not saying how they feel.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Little less hype, also get rid of FAT, out of shape fitness managers.

I worked at Equinox Fitness as an intern

    Pros

The gym is well organized will all of the amenities you could ask for. They have great classes to attend whenever you may need them

    Cons

Some of the management I here can be pretty touch. I'm hearing a lot of personal trainers getting fired for not filling a quota.

I have been working at Equinox Fitness full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Growth opportunities, education/development, support, clean, professional, high-level trainers, compensation opportunities, benefits.

    Cons

With any corporation, there are many hoops to jump through in order to things according to the brand. No paid time off...but what personal training position DOES offer that? Work/life balance is the responsibility of the trainer...can be challenging because the time requirement is at times great.

Love the people, all employees are fun healthy individuals - work life balance is great - positive work environment

    Cons

Lovely place but the onus is put more on selling than giving good solid instruction.

Current Employee - Pilates Instructor in New York, NY

I have been working at Equinox Fitness part-time

    Pros

    Nice free membership. Health benefits.
Pilates instructors don't get paid for the time they spend doing member outreach to get new clients, and Equinox does not adequately market the Pilates.

    Cons

    You better sell sell sell!
Not very much support for this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Market your pilates so the pilates instructors don't have to do it for free. Nobody likes to work for free!
