    Pros

EquipNet is a good company experiencing the challenges of growing from a small outfit to quality mid size firm. EquipNet’s business is complicated and the company is driving to bring about a customer experience that is far better than the current industry standard. There are good people here working hard to make this company better every day. What is refreshing at EquipNet is that employees are empowered to bring forth good ideas and drive positive change for EquipNet’s customers and the company. As an employee, my voice is heard and my ideas are given attention. Being a flatter organization that encourages this, the company retains an entrepreneurial spirit where one can make a difference. Recent organizational changes to position the company for continued growth are starting to generate positive results which are exciting for all involved.

    Cons

Typical of a lot of growing mid size companies, EquipNet would benefit from stronger training programs and systems for its employees.

    Pros

The company is 15 years old and is still growing at a significant rate. It offers opportunities to grow if you are the type of person that takes initiative. I've read other reviews that criticize the company for not having growth plans for its employees. There may not be a clear corporate ladder to climb but for the company creates positions for those who take initiative and push the boundaries. Warehouse workers have become sales people. Others in receiving have moved up to field personnel and even created their own position within a client's facility - moving to a different city and becoming an on location representative, People in various departments are constantly given more responsibility. It is a good company for a "self-starter." The culture is fun. Never worked at another place that was this casual or flexible. Company is definitely not perfect but it's continuously improving.

    Cons

Company could improve their formal training. It's a very unique business with a high learning curve. Communications could be improved. Company is in-between a small business and a large corporation and sometimes messages get lost.

    Advice to Management

Continue to involve every employee in cross functional committees and teams.

    Pros

Again, casual dress code and pretty much impossible to get fired no matter what dumb or irresponsible moves you make. You can even go to work drunk, harass your colleagues, and still not get fired.

    Cons

The sales team is a complete nightmare and impossible to work with. There's zero business experience in anyone prior to this job, a total lack of respect for colleagues, and they have had the same sales goal for more than 3 years; shouldn't your sales increase over time so the sales team has something to reach for and the company grows? However, if you are on the sales team, you are the only department to consistently receive bonuses. They will tell you no one is getting a bonus, but secretly the entire sales team is rewarded (more than they deserve) behind your back. There is also zero room for growth within the company. There are managers and then about 5-10 employees under each and the managers are the only employees that never leave; you do the math.

    Advice to Management

Do some serious personality assessments and re-organization with the company. There are many employees that deserve to be fired and many more that deserve to get a raise/promotion.

    Pros

Great place to get your feet wet, learn the ins and outs of the selling industry. They give you a ton of responsibility and you learn how to manage your day effectively. Laid back work environment. Excellent job security. Multiple opportunities to travel all over the country for trade shows, customer site visits, etc. More importantly this place lets you know what kind of person you are with the freedom that they give you. You get to carve out more or less exactly what you want to get out of your time working there. Your personal growth is in your hands.

    Cons

For all the work you do you are not compensated correctly for it. Commissions are withheld in case the company falls on it's face in the future quarters. No real review or salary negotiations for pay raises. Management has been there for a while and aren't going anywhere and therefore the only career advancement you will have is in the position you take after you leave this place. Most people there think it isn't worth making more money somewhere else because they know there's really nothing they can do to get fired and think" Do I really want a change of scenery where I won't have this much fun and be accountable for my work?" The only people there that are making their money are the ones who are in management positions which explains the incredibly high turnover rate the company has over the past five years at the lower level positions in the company.

    Pros

Very open and relaxed environment. Flat structure, so you don't have to go through a million people to get stuff done. Your ideas will get heard and you have the liberty to take the initiative on your projects.

    Cons

Pay could be better for what they expect of you sometimes. Because there is such a flat structure it can work to a disadvantage when it comes to responsibilities. There is also no room to climb the corporate latter.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees, let them know they are appreciated. Office culture needs some work improving.

    Pros

Great place to "get your feet wet" in your prospective field. Provides good opportunities for travel for those who desire to. Good benefits and yearly outings. Fun work environment and many genuinely good people.

    Cons

Not much room for upward movement. Laid back work environment breeds unprofessionalism and complacency. Management either unable or incapable of searching for proactive solutions; instead relies too heavily on entry level employees to enact change. Occasional severe disorganization and mismanagement.

    Advice to Management

Reward employees who deserve to be rewarded, and don't be afraid to hold your employees accountable. Take ownership of problems instead of passing the buck, and be willing to develop and implement proactive solutions.

    Pros

EquipNet offers good entry level work, a fun culture and great benefits. I usually like going to work every day.

    Cons

No way to move up in the company. Raises and bonuses are inconsistent from one department to another, and not given out on schedule, which doesn't coincide with the "fair and consistent values.

    Advice to Management

Value employees more by establishing a standard practice for awarding raises and bonuses every year. EquipNet is large enough that the company can do that now.

    Pros

Young company, lots of energy great place for recent grads to learn the ropes of the professional world yearly company outings that help bring the employees closer

    Cons

Some of the managers who have been there for years and years are alittle stuck in their ways and can stifle an employees growth and contribution. some spurts of wild disorganization low salaries but great comprehensive benefits package global company that appreciates but doesn't necessarily reward diversity

    Advice to Management

Listen to your hardworking staff! Its one of your best resources and conduits toward growth!
