    Pros

    Starbucks - all the time. Cushy travel budget, very casual work attire (some people in yoga pants), a lot of lunches- on them, relaxed about hours worked for salaried employees (40+ but not necessarily 8-5), access to tools needed to get the job done - ipads, mifi, cellphones - which they replace when they break.

    Cons

    Crap medical insurance, work/life balance (selling mobile homes is not an emergency, no one is curing cancer, the midnight emails on a Sunday can wait), raises are less than the cost of living increases, ideas are constantly plagiarized.

    Advice to Management

    1.Stop promoting people who can't do their current job well ie: the person in charge of all of your websites hunts and pecks while typing and hardly knows how to turn on a computer - that should be a sign! Stop wasting money on third party agencies - EE is a joke and is ripping you off. Find a company that knows SEO, find a web team that at least knows enough to look at their own website. 2.When the same person has multiple lawsuits filed against them regarding hostile work environment, stop promoting that person. Not everyone is cut out for managing people, regardless of how hard they work or how smart they may be. 3.Value the 20% of the people the actually do 90% of the work. Listening to the Friday morning sales call is painful for those who actually contributed - to hear about a regional who never does anything, and yet exceeded "hush" numbers because of someone else's hard work; give the credit where it's due - to the staff who runs the property, to the people who are constantly subjected to verbal abuse for not meeting sales goals when the sales "training" consists of an 8-page slapped together deck. 4.Stop wasting money on your revolving door of employees! Take a look at some HR studies that provide facts and data on the investment of retaining current employees. 5.Implement a rule that requires employees to respond to emails - never in my life have I worked anywhere where it was common practice to simply ignore emails that you didn't have an answer to or didn't feel like dealing with. 6.Get better insurance. Its a joke that for an individual you pay $300 a month to for a plan that covers NOTHING (including traditional office visits) until an outrageous deductible is met. 7.Implement training procedures.. Learning and development - a recorded presenter flipping through an outdated deck is better than when I started, but does not prepare anyone for the tasks at hand. Invest in the training of good people, then invest in their retention. You can't blame people and hold them accountable for your failure in providing them the necessary tools to succeed at their position.

    there are absolutely no pros to this job

    Cons

    Equity LifeStyle Properties is a company of slumlords who take advantage of elderly, sick, and underprivileged. The properties owned by ELP are dilapidated and unsafe. the water to the units is often off turned off. You do not want to be a part of this company. It is not worth it. they expect you to be cruel and heartless as all of their managers are.

    Pros

    i worked well with the on site staff and property manager. nice property and enjoyed working for most of the residents.

    Cons

    very high demands from corporate. as a maintenance supervisor I was on call 24/7 expected to perform quality work, manage several employs and perform a wide rang of jobs out side of my job description. I did all of this without objection. i was reworded with a 2 percent pay increase after 3 years. the pay was way below industry standers and i was offered substandard insurance that was insulting. ELS does nothing for its employs that shows it cares to retain good employes for the long term. Dead end job

    Advice to Management

    i would think employe retention would be a concern. if you wont a good quality staff go back to full time employes. pay them a reasonable wage with descent medical benefits. reword good employes with a raise above the inflation rate and maybe pay for a Christmas dinner OH ya and when you are at property's take the time to talk to employes and at least pretend like you care.

    Pros

    None unless you want to consider the location of the offices.

    Cons

    Growth opportunities limited, outdated systems, unqualified new staff, if it is not broke don't fix it approach by Management.

    Advice to Management

    Management's view on workload, new hires, exisiting employees, retention of key employees, and systems needs to be evaluated.

    Pros

    I enjoyed talking to the residents. That is about it. Nothing else. Can't think of anything else nice to say.

    Cons

    Unappreciated, crap community managers; only management ideas are good, noone else has any GOOD ideas; employees are not given any decent raises - come on 20 cents! They should be ashamed of themselves. Insurance for hourly employees is an expensive joke.

    Advice to Management

    Take a course on Professionalism!

    Pros

    You get to wear jeans everyday.

    Cons

    Everything is a con for this place. Management is completely inept, culture and organizational structure is horrendous. There are no promotions from within, no raises (except for managemen, of course), and no bonuses. I had to give it one star because I couldn't submit this review with a zero.

    Advice to Management

    Get a clue, hire new CEO and replace upper management immediately.

    Pros

    I would not consider this a pro myself, but some people may. If you are the type of person that likes to just sit around and find projects, task, mundane and trivial assignments to do, then this is the perfect place for you. If you like to sit under the radar and just do enough for that day, then this is the place for you. If you like going on extensive expeditions to find meaningful work to do, then this is the place for you. If you like not having any communications with your manager, director and team members, then this is the place for you. If you like getting paid for really doing all day, then this is the place for you. If you not being challenged and instead fill your day joking around to pass the time, then this is the place for you. I could go on and on and on. Get the picture?

    Cons

    NO BUDGET, NO COMMUNICATION, NO TEAM BUILDING, NO TEAM COMMUNICATION, NO DIRECTION, NO DELEGATION, NO LEADERSHIP, NO PROJECTS, NO EFFECTIVE CIO TO LEAD THE DEPARTMENT and LOW PAY

    Advice to Management

    Fire all IT managers and CIO and start from the ground up.

    Pros

    Great seasonal opportunities in many areas of experience. Meet great people to work with and visitors. Few permanent, year round career opportunities.

    Cons

    Low pay for company expectations, therefore you are working with some individuals with questionable work ethics, this can be frustrating at times.

    Advice to Management

    Provide a competitive wage to workers, both camp workers and local residents.
