    Pros

Company truly valued employees. Helped with education and was always looking to promote within. Coworkers were like family - lots of team building.

    Cons

None. This company was transparent with their sale when selling Seattle portfolio and treated employees with total respect. Just wish they were still around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Come back to Seattle!

    Pros

Good compensation and a decent benefit package. Management seems to really want employees to be happy- even if their hands are tied on passing on information.

    Cons

Promotions don't actually seem to be based on performance but more who you are in with. Also, very vague structure regarding staffing allotments. Some areas overstuffed with higher level titles while others seem understaffed with no opportunities for moving up in company. Lots of dispositions with vague status updates are making for low morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to people, communicate plans, allow people the opportunity to grow.

    Pros

Get to learn a lot about the business. A mid-sized company so learning the in's and out's are easier. Benefits are good and paid holidays/PTO are standard with other companies.

    Cons

Work life balance is not there. Some upper management only care about interacting with their own peers and only give respect to certain folks. A very clique'ish environment. Morale is low due to layoffs and unsteady portfolio. Some raises/promotions are NOT based on performance, which is unfair to those who work hard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Re-evaluate salaries to be on par with market rate. Respect should be given at all levels. Respect is not based on your position, but the individual. Get Equity Office into the 21st century and listen to employees wants and needs.

    Pros

They imbibe the work atmosphere with lots of fun. They have opportunities for internal growth and the people who work here are very competent and approachable.

    Cons

The company buys and sells buildings so it doesn't always feel like the most stable environment. Some people have been here for a long time and are complacent- lacks innovation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Budget more for salary increases. Also upgrade technology more frequently.

    Pros

They had one of the best top-down team building philosophies in this business. I say "had" because they are in the process of being sold.

    Cons

There wasn't one. The only reason I resigned is that they are being sold.

    Pros

Great company to learn the in's and out's of commercial real estate. Analysts are thrown into a ton of projects. Company portfolio consists of institutional quality assets that prove to provide a tremendous learning experience for great exit ops.

    Cons

Work life balance is a little lacking for pay compensation. Hard to take pto when there is high priority projects constantly occurring.

    Pros

Great downtown location, relaxed work environment, smart and caring coworkers, consistently one of the top rated companies to work for in the Chicago land area.

    Cons

Nothing out of the ordinary. It is not completely uncommon to see people there after 5 or on the weekends but they make sure to order food for you on company expense if that is the case.
