I worked at Equity Residential full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great place to work and live though not so great on the only 20% rent reduction if you live on site. I really enjoyed working for the property for well over three years.
Cons – Promotions are based on who you know rather than merit. MANY unqualified candidates, to include upper management get promoted over a qualified one. Job security at (Woodland Park) in East Palo Alto CA. is not so secure any more. Emplyees feel like their jobs are on stake and thus looking outside Equity for employment.
Advice to Senior Management – Senior Management uses threats rather than advice and motivation to get results. Especialy Sr Management & Superintendent in the maintenance Department. "My advice to upper management is to listen to lower management level and good employees to make positive changes". Also, get rid of the bad apples...
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
