I worked at Equity Residential full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They have a lot of activities for employees to participate and get involved with the community.

    Cons

They don't care too much about employees, you can get fired in a second. I didn't get fired, but I saw many come and go. You can work really hard for a raise or a promotion, but if you are not liked by upper management then forget about it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start taking a closer look at people's hard work and not at who brings you coffee every morning.

    Pros

The upper management is very fare, and try there best to create a successful working environment. The benefit package is good, and they like to promote from within.

    Cons

The middle management likes to micro manage, and can get in the way of progress. They didn't seem to realize that the staff on sight was very capable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust the staff on site running the day to day operations, they know the ins and outs because every property has is own different challenges
