I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The Place of work is very neat, advanced, and new. Relation between teams are mostly respectful but not all the time The company has a lot of internal opportunities that you can grow internally and change jobs with a lot of salarty jumps, however its not that easy as it depends on who you know and what you did

    Cons

The company is taking alot of market share in The U.S and is making money & profit however for them to keep thier numbers they are known to be a company of so much Layoffs they do Layoffs a lot, i have survived (so far) all the layoffs that happened in the past 5 years. they do layoffs on unknown reasons they do not share their reasons the management is very secretive about it many of those employees that got kicked out they do have very high performance Some departments are being controlled by a specific group of people playing dirty politics. since i joined the company the regular trend in this company was layoffs (layoffs for the full timer employees not mentioning the contractors) If you want to work in this company start with a very high salary otherwise its difficult to get good promotions

    Advice to Management

Managment must work on thier morals more and stop following only numbers right now every single good engineer working at Ericsson is looking to go somewhere else none of us is feeling secure even though we do have good business

    Pros

Ericsson has good compensation rates., and are prepared to pay for talent. Ericsson also has excellent life-work compatibility ... meaning they can be very flexible in your working hours (40hrs/week) and working locations (dependant on the role you are playing).

    Cons

Ericsson's upper management is in a constant state of flux with many new departments/teams being introduced ... however those new teams may only exist for one to two years. The company is structured and operates within numerous "silos" and often there is no communication between the different silos which often resulted in unnecessary/duplicate work (work being done by one or more departments/teams). No sense of ownership of the company for the employees ... they are simply numbers within a big machine ... I personally had 5 different managers in three years and the last four did not even know my name. Job security is non-existent. They allow software to manage their business and as such, any employee can be "laid of" with little to no warning if they meet the criteria and flagged by the software.

    Advice to Management

    Communicate

    Pros

Ericsson has excellent health benefits. Gives the impression that they are concerned with employee well being, health of the worlds environment, and appearing to be ahead of the technology curve.

    Cons

Job security is lacking. Outside of Sweden, employees are second class. Employees are not provided enough guidance on a proper course of skills development in order to keep current with the company's needs.

    Advice to Management

For jobs in technology areas, maintain a list of required and desired skills and provide employees with adequate time on the job to at least engage study. There is too much of you're on your own to keep current with the needs of the business without making it clear what the needs are for specific organizations.

    I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Ericsson provide a good working environment, and it has career path designed for its employee. There are chances to be relocated to different site around the world, to experience different cultural background.

    Cons

Fair benefit for working in Ericsson, it doesn't offer too much of incentives in workplace. Also need to have improvement for Ericsson Cafe. it needs variety.

    Advice to Management

since our code is complex. source code needs to be cleaned up once a while, and componentize the code, so it can avoid creating many issues and increase the complexity of the code.
