    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Professional employee development & continuous training.
    Engaged & empowered employees.
    Autonomy/non-micromanagement style (local management).
Encouraging employee innovation and process improvement.
Professional, respect & ethical behaviors encouraged.
Scale, breadth & depth of company within the telecommunications industry.
Frequent survey feedback responses to Corporate on employeere work experiences.
Base pay is lower than competitors, but total benefits compensation is above average for industry sector.

    Cons

Company continually reorganizing; thus resulting in work force reductions/adjustments annually.
Contract employee ramp-up and turnover every 6-18 months is typical business practice .
Reliability of computer software log in access & program or application connections are productivity issues.
Systems and processes are rarely user friendly, overly complex and constantly changing in ways that constantly frustrate the user.
Lack of accountability on many work levels.
Employee performance review process is predominately rushed through and one-way.
Most work performances are measured and tracked through metric tracking systems to generally two (2) decimal places for perceived accuracy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Simplify and detox the work system processes.
Replacing full-time employees with contract employees is a short term solution with negative impacts and consequences to employees and customers alike.
Positive adjustments to the annual employee performance review process are warranted.

    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide

    Pros

Independent challenging field work. Being outdoors. Working with co workers.

    Cons

Over worked. Safety issues. No time for personal life due to long hours and working over two weeks straight without a day off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Techs should not have to work 18 days straight without a day off or 18 hour days. Someone will get hurt. Safety is a huge concern - working at night alone in bad areas. Someone needs to wake up and act like a company that cares about the employees and not treat them like crap!
