Great mix of cultures and nationalities.

    Cons

As with many big global companies, overhead is being pushed down from the top that does not always make sense.

Avoid if you can, there are many better places to spend the best part of your life

Former Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Mountain View, CA

    Pros

    1. Reasonably flexible hours
    2. Overall, the pressure level is lower than in many IT companies
    3. Every now and then you might be allowed to work remote

    Cons

You may like this place if:

1.You love to spend most of your waking hours either in a noisy "bullpen" in the hallway, or doubled-up in a room about the size of the bathroom and without windows
    2. You enjoy explaining to people that the grass is green and the sky is blue - over and over again
    3. You really love being kicked out (aka fired) without as much as a single word of explanation. Next day you would report to work - only to find out that you were fired the day before and nobody can tell you why

If the above sounds like your dream job - by all means. If not - there are few hundred companies in the vicinity, do yourself a favor and pick any of them instead.

    Pros

    Excellent Benefits
    Good Pay
    Good People
Company truly does care about it's people

    Cons

Ericsson is a Swedish company and tends to not understand the US culture
Trying to influence change is extremely difficult
Can be very cumbersome to get anything implemented or changed
There tends to be a disconnnect between what top management wants/says and the employees who need to make the change. There is resistence among many long time employees - who do not want to make the changes.
Unfortunately their administrative functions are set up regionally and trying to work cross country and try to by pass bureaucracy is almost impossible.
    IT systems are subpar

    Pros

Acquired Microsoft Mediaroom 6 months ago and it's still in transitional phase. So, not much to see the Ericsson effect. Slightly better salary than Microsoft's but ridiculously low benefits.

    Cons

    . Ridiculously low benefits
. Lots of hirings without any plans and visions.
. More than 60% of the original employee have already left after the acquisition

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

. Don't disappointment those smart people who were previously Microsoft's employees.
. Had you not disappointed the Microsoft employee with ridiculously low benefits and other facilities, things would have been lot different.
. With this rate, the only way is downhill.
