I have been working at Erie Family Health Center full-time

    Pros

Lots of great co-workers who are there to not only take home a paycheck, but to also help improve the community's overall health and well being.

    Cons

Noticed some poor communication/feelings between different sites. People weren't always on the same page about changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take more time to listen to the needs of the supporting staff.

I have been working at Erie Family Health Center full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great services to patients. We have great providers who truly care about their patients.

    Cons

Employees hardly move up in the organization. It is very bureaucratic!!! Employees work hard, but do not get the compensation they deserve. The people on top on the only ones who grow in the organization and I am sure are the ones making the big bucks while the rest of us at the bottom literally make pennies... Ridiculous!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to appreciate and compensate the talent you have before you lose it! Only care about themselves and making money

I have lost faith in non-profits. In one word? Bureaucratic.

I have been working at Erie Family Health Center

    Pros

You get to work in one of the leading community health centers in the city of Chicago. It gives you a unique look into a larger community health center operation.

    Cons

Erie puts a huge emphasis on promoting from within-- which is great, but senior management fails to see how managers supervise their employees. Work morale is low, there is little respect between managers and employees, and communication between the two is strained. Upper management takes their power very seriously, and there is little interaction between them and clinical staff.
Support for staff is low and there is little recognition for a job well done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership turns a blind eye to poor supervisors and low morale. Just because a manager is organized and completes tasks on time, does not mean they make good supervisors. There is no advocacy done on behalf of employees by their supervisors.
