  1. Big company, good pay, good benefits

I have been working at Ermenegildo Zegna

    Pros

Big company, expanding rapidly in the U.S. Great benefits package at very low cost to employee. Good pay if you are a seller, of course.

    Cons

Going through restructuring at the top levels, so there is uncertainty on the ground level for retail stores. Not sure where the cards are going to fall.

  2. Just OK

I worked at Ermenegildo Zegna full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, friendly coworkers. The sample sale was always a hit.

    Cons

The higher management should step up and do some real work. Very hard to be promoted.

Ermenegildo Zegna is an amazing company to work for; the GM, however, ruined my time there.

I have been working at Ermenegildo Zegna full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The atmosphere is great, along with the product we sell. They take good care of their employees and lead them in a direction that is most successful for their career choice.

    Cons

Their way of processing incoming and outgoing distribution is a little out dated, which leaves room for many mistakes when involving inventory control.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not micro manage; we are all adults and and were hired for a reason. Please let us do our jobs.

    Pros

Quality product - the best made to measure in the market

    Cons

Manufacturing company playing at Retail - MICRO MANAGEMENT AT ALL LEVELS - there is even a tutorial on how to serve a client a glass of water !!!!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Micro management means that you don't trust your employee to preform their job at a high level.

I have been working at Ermenegildo Zegna full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Absolutely beautiful product with exceptional quality, nice legacy, admirable vertical integration

    Cons

Experience consistent with previous reviews. Low pay for extensive amount of work? Check. Doing work of 2 positions? Check. Out of date IT? Check. Culture of blame? Check Micro manage? Check. If all this sounds good to you, you're going to love it here. If this sounds like your worst nightmare; you may want to decline any offer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I don't think management actually wants any advice. However, if they wanted to stem the tide of good people leaving; they would do well to really listen to and at least consider implementing some of the ideas of current employees. There is nothing progressive, fresh or new about your approach to fashion and retail. The retail landscape is continuing to change and you're in danger of being left behind.

I worked at Ermenegildo Zegna full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The product quality is excellent (except the jacket zippers) but you can work with Zegna products for wholesalers and have a more pleasant experience.

    Cons

    - Massive disorganization in regards to nearly everything
    - Constantly being mislead or misinformed in an attempt to motivate by fear
    - A POS system and retail operations system that is archaic and needlessly complex
    - Little to no regard to the sales staff
    - Too many supervisors and artificially created roles which leads to disorganization, unnecessary aggression and competition internally.
    - Nearly no interest in training and development of staff

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The "training" is a joke, and the system highly slanted against development. Less forcus on numbers only and more on the complete package.

I have been working at Ermenegildo Zegna full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great exposure to luxury brands. Great people to work with.

    Cons

Low pay for extensive amount of work. Not getting recognized for a job well done. Being treated like a number instead of a person. It doesn't matter how long you've been with the company, you'll get tossed aside and forget everything you've done for this company when they find someone to replace you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More communication is needed. If your team is managing the store better than you are, changes need to be made. Recognize your team's potential.

I worked at Ermenegildo Zegna full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly coworkers - mix of Italians and Americans groups. A few management level supervisor is inspiring with great leadership. You learn a lot by being overloaded with work. Everyone in the company has to do two people's jobs.

    Cons

Greatly underpaid with overloaded responsibilities. Some people are favored by higher management and knows how to kiss ass so they never have to do real work, while others have to clean their ass and do the work. HR needs to really value the quality of people they hire. You can't expect to hire quality employees with under-market-value salary. In the end you are wasting money and losing business by hiring these under-qualified employees. Company management don't appreciate you for the contribution you give. They toss you after you are fully used and with no value to them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open your eyes and ears - Wake Up! Treat your employees with respect and appreciation.
