I have been working at Ernst & Young full-time for less than a year
Pros – A lot of career advancement opportunities, the ability to work with senior management on a frequent basis, and the opportunity to work in an array of different industries with having very little prior work experience.
Cons – Very long hours during busy season. You might be assigned to several "busy season" clients in a row and will not have a break from constant stress for quite a significant amount of time. Also, the technology the firm uses is outdated (i.e. - specifically the e-mail server they use).
Advice to Senior Management – Recognize its people for their contributions, provide employees the ability to choose an industry related to their individual interests (i.e. - on audit side) and hire more people for busy season months.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Ernst & Young full-time
Pros – Very professional environment. Work is thoroughly done, approached in a well disciplined and appropriate manner. Good programs for work life balance . Very strong benefits but the pay is usually average although more or less competitive. You can learn a lot working here and it is a respect based environment.
Cons – More than most places, EY can be a highly political environment. If new, you will need a mentor to understand the culture.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at Ernst & Young full-time for more than a year
Pros – You work with intelligent people that you wouldn't mind hanging out with on the weekend
Cons – At a staff level there is not much content learning going on. Some times it feels like you should have started in industry so that you actually have knowledge to advise with. It seems like the company is growing faster every year. Its hard to keep a culture with such extreme growth
Advice to Senior Management – Invest more in educating your staff on the content in which they are working on!

I have been working at Ernst & Young full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – -Work with all kinds of different people in teaming environments--a lot of great people to work with
-Great educational resources to learn about accounting topics
-Surprisingly, can be flexible during non-busy times
-Help you to get a CPA and resume builder for the future
Cons – -Long hours
-Tedious and administrative work can be a big part of the job
-Hierarchical structure
-Answers to the PCAOB, which is constantly coming out with new guidance
Advice to Senior Management – Bring in more qualified individuals to shoulder the burden. Recent experienced hires have not been very helpful. May need to be willing to pay more.

I have been working at Ernst & Young
Pros – First of all, the people in Ernst and Young are great. They are kind, yet professional and they are very committed in everything they do
Cons – It is really hard to find cons. Perhaps, one con was that I had to move around many times for different clients and it can get pretty far away from home.
Advice to Senior Management – none
