Pros
Vacation Days are very competitive in comparison with other companies
Flexibility is a key aspect of work life balance
Carrer Progression
Cons
Work Load is often large and requires sacrifice
Long Hours are often required
Under staffing occurs at times on certain engagements
Advice to Senior Management
Flexibility must not be pushed aside. it is imperative to keep employees happy and working until all hours of the night does not.
Pros
Different clients and industries keep things interesting, depending on your team it can be fun and you'll make some good friends, 3 weeks vacation which is more than most places plus the option to buy more vacation (but remember it'll cost you)
Cons
Of course, no work life balance, blame game is everywhere all the time, unrealistic expectations and very little help as you progress in the firm. Management does not care to hear anything negative though like most corporate cultures they'll say they do. Very little support from upper management so hard to feel like a team.
Advice to Senior Management
Other than the obvious "hire more people", stop having such a chip on your shoulders to think that you don't have to get your hands dirty in the detail and help out with the actual onsite audit work. It is supposed to be a team after all. Just because it's the way it was done when you were a senior doesn't mean it was done right or needs to stay that way.
Pros
Variety of projects, state of the art technology, decent benefits, some work schedule flexibility
Cons
Long, long, hours year round, no work life balance, inability to transfer from department to department, career goals not supported
Advice to Senior Management
Allow employees to transfer to other departments for career development, should not work employees to death with 55-80 hour workweeks
Pros
Great pay, great benefits, okay people.
Cons
Management had little respect for its employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Get a life.
Pros
Good health benefits. 401k Matching. Flexibility. Free lunches & dinners. Good place to work if you plan to get your CPA license.
Cons
No room to grow if you don't get your CPA. Overworked considering the pay. Low bonuses. Time sensitive deadlines that require you to work long hours.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide more guidance for employees to grow in their career. Give bigger salary raises, bonuses and promotions. Provide more extra perks.
Pros
You will get a diversified work experience. You will learn from senior management that have a lot of experience and knowledge.
Cons
There is no work/life balance with not too competitive compensation; If you are good, you will be worked day and night.
Advice to Senior Management
Leadership should find a way to recognize people who are outperforming by providing better compensation and incentives. Then more people will be more willing to stay and perform better.
Pros
top notch company, great people, good training and knowledge sharing of best practices
Cons
at the end of the day, its a business - a lot of good people were let go
Advice to Senior Management
it seemed like management kept changing their strategy - it would be nice to keep one central focus and execute
Pros
-large international company
-lots of room for growth
-$ $ $ $ $
-lot of information sharing, everyone is willing to give someone else a leg up or advice
- great feedback
Cons
-entry level positions work investment banker hours but don't receieve equivalent pay
-switching job sites every few weeks (some may like the frequent change of scenary, but navigating around LA is hell)
Advice to Senior Management
Don't cut great interns because they get 1 C
Pros
i make my schedule which is a great benefit!
Cons
some people are just difficult to work with, but thats everywhere
Advice to Senior Management
n/a
Pros
Good benefits. Nice coworkers. Great place to list on your resume.
Cons
It only takes one bad leader to destroy a group. People sit around and are afraid to leave at night because the group leader is a workaholic. No respect for work life balance. People are rewarded only for long hours and not for results. Those that don't adopt this way of working are labled poor performers.
Advice to Senior Management
Relax and quit working people to death. People do have lives outside of work. Reward efficiency by letting people leave when their work is done. Lead by example.
