    Pros

Stable employer, competitive salary, and domestic partnership medical benefits

    Cons

Many, many layers of bosses and the disorganization of fast expansion

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fair treatment and a level playing field with accessible promotions aids staff retention

    Pros

Co-workers for the most part are good people

    Cons

IT management is horribly unqualified, most that I dealt with didn't have any management experience prior to this job.
End up working 50/60 hours a week, and they will ask for more

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire managers/directors/CIOs that have degrees in management or information systems management.

    Pros

Many career opportunities and room to advance. Friendly, cooperative team astmosphere. Relaxed and enjoyable environment.

    Cons

As an inter, I had a lot of down time. Had to hunt for projects to fill time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the relaxed, flexible environment. Find a way to give the interns more responsibility.

    Pros

Constant supply of highly profitable gullible sick people which in turn makes for a consistent workload.

    Cons

Good old boys club full of engrained long term local people who put shallow politics at a higher priority than the work environment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The human resources department needs to grow a pair and act on the continuing problems instead of sweeping them under the rug

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, freedom to explore new ideas without pressure from management to adhere to their personal preference of software. I got to touch a lot of different systems.

    Cons

The shift work was terribly irregular. Lots of the time I ended up working all 3 shifts in one week and could never, ever get on a good sleep schedule. I didn't have much of an opportunity to move up in the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit rotating contractors and hire permanent staff. It's better for business to keep people already familiar with the company's systems.

    Pros

Mission based founded on Benedictine values. Great views and some facilities are beautiful. Quality patient care. Opportunities for training and learning.

    Cons

Scrambling to prepare for health care reform, managers have too much to do. Workforce has sense of entitlement and the many unions intimidate managers and can make managing employees a challenge. Moving away from Benedictine roots.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

settle down, set example for employees.

    Pros

Corporate Culture, average benefits, good company for such a rural area.

    Cons

Growing too fast and no leadership to grow effectively. Lots of midlevel manager disputes. I feel sorry for the worker bees.I think it will work itself out but at a cost of some really talented employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication-take suggestions from the talent you hired. Some of them do know what they are talking about. Do what you say you are going to do.

    Pros

Easy, lots of downtime, great food, lots of walking space

    Cons

HR's system is designed for nurses and doctors, not IT.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why so much down time? Why don't you listen to our ideas?

    Pros

Opportunity for long term employment, great opportunities for experience, many wonderful people, structured

    Cons

While there are great opportunities, hard to move up and get in the position. Reluctance to share information among some departments

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Involve various staff in more decision making and trust them to perform tasks. When staff is asking for time management assistance, assist. Continue to let staff utilize work rooms.
