    Pros

Generous time off policy, good compensation and benefits package.

    Cons

Training is severely lacking, management has exorbitant demands without knowing the business, long hours, mandatory overtime.

    Advice to Management

Hire from the ground up instead of bringing in people from the outside to run the business. You will enjoy more stability and happier employees.

    Pros

    I have no pros

    Cons

They expect you to be a super star employee and work night and day. They are very consistent in cutting pay and still expect you to go out of your way for them!! They are very cut throat and care nothing for employees! They discriminate against certain employees!! Management is horrible and very unprofessional!

    Advice to Management

Layoff all managers they do not know how to manage employees at all!!!! This company will be going under soon!! Quit playing favorites with people and run a business!!! Lawsuit waiting to happen on discrimination!!

  6. Worst company ever. Management has no clue what they are doing.

    Pros

I got paid last week. That was a big surprise.

    Cons

No raises ever. People are having hours cut and being laid off unless you are friends or family members of management. Some people that had their hours cut were told over email. management didn't even have the guts to tell them face to face even though they were in the same building.

    Advice to Management

Shut the place down and do everyone a favor. This company had so much potential and management ran it into the ground. The company now is beyond saving.

  7. Working For Essintial, not as good as it could be. They expect the best, but pay average. Pay cuts, replace pay raises.

    Pros

It is better than not doing anything. The call center appears to have no clue as to who is working for which contract. Company sends cheapest person to do the work needed. That can and does result in additional customer down time on occasion.

    Cons

The company pays the average of costs in the area where the employee lives. They expect best from all employees, while paying average, according to them. I was never able to confirm any of their figures. I came to Essiential when we purchased Halifax. It was all downhill from there. Company is seeking the bottom of the IT world's contracts. High volume low margin is the Company direction.

    Advice to Management

If you will not resign, then be honest with the employees and let them know they will never get a raise, or any of the employee friendly practices of good company .

    Pros

The best reason to work here is because you don't have a choice. If you have to do something and going through a transition then do what you have to but be aware. The employees aren't half bad, It's good for newbies that want some experience but I would suggest you learn quickly.

    Cons

They will work you to death and pay only what they must. It's especially bad for the person looking to be loyal and thinks they'll get a return, won't happen! You'll be asked to give up personal time off to do favors for the company when things escalate, but when it comes to helping you in a time of need don't count on it. The supervision definitely plays favorites and you can be on their bad side in the blink of an eye. They'll ask you to go the extra mile at your expense but won't return the favor. The dispatch people do a good job but many times they're between a rock and a hard place so the techs take it in the end. If you're going through a transition, get in, make your money and get out before you get taken advantage of. I think they're moving to platform service techs so they don't have to pay any benefits going into the next year.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should stop using the lower level employees the way they do without consideration. Stop giving the employees the facade of everything being great and then dumping on them for the company bottom line.

    Pros

Nothing really but the job did sound good before starting.

    Cons

Pretty much everything. Poor pay with no raises (even if you get promoted or change departments), poor hours, hard to get time off, always angry stressed-out co-workers, always understaffed (due to nobody wanting to work here), management has no clue and plays favoritism, running very old shareware software on old systems even though they are supposedly a tech company, poor to no training, expensive health care, no 401K matching, problems never get resolved, etc.

    Advice to Management

Find another job, you don't have management skills.

    Pros

    Starting pay and their location

    Cons

This is probably the most inefficient company I have ever worked for. What makes it worse is they are understaffed (probably because everyone knows not to work here). If only they had a clue and used software from this century too. Poor work environment, below average management, co-workers with horrible personalities and attitudes.

    Advice to Management

Hope a larger company buys you out someday before you go under.

    Pros

Some of the people here are really cool. You also have the opportunity to work from home if the weather is really bad. Over time you can find friends all over the world by helping them in the field and getting to know them.

    Cons

Leadership, there have been multiple management changes and it doesn't seem like any of them are trained to deal with overseeing people. Very unprofessional and rude. The attendance policy is locked down because there are not enough people to cover the different departments. So work life balance completely goes out the window. People are expected to learn multiple departments on their own, no raises are ever given- no matter how many departments you learn. Your equipment (Laptop) is almost 8 years old. A lot of software is free-ware and doesn't work correctly. Management is very condescending, practices favoritism, and doesn't know your job well enough to help you. Promotions are usually given to pre-chosen agents behind closed doors. They were offering interviews for a while but then decided to go back to the old way. Very few opportunities unless you're in someone's back pocket.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like they don't matter. Understand that people have a life out side of work, and that they are allowed to, and it shouldn't hurt their professional career. Also understand that you don't give employees anything to work for. There's no raises, you get buried in medical bills with our insurance, and most people can't pay their bills on what we make. Also stop taking the lack of staffing knowledge out on the people on the floor. Asking people to do multiple functions and still get paid less than some people who only do one function is like a slap in the face.
