Pros
Gratis benefits are great. Great training
Cons
Standing all day, pressures to meet quotas
Pros
Great money, fun job, free products, constant product training. The opportunity to help women feel their very best every day.
Cons
The normal drama you get when working with a bunch of young girls. High pressure sales goal that sometimes are just unattainable no matter what you try. Retail!
Pros
People, benefits, reputation, industry leader
Cons
Salary, work/life balance, daycare accommodations, flexibility
Advice to Senior Management
Better benefits for working mothers are expected from such a big company in this industry. There is definitely a lack of understanding of work/life balance in this company.
Pros
Experience with makeup. Good retail experience. Gratis. Get to try new products. Learning how to work with products and different customer base.
Cons
Extreme retail hours, especially around the holidays. Ugly uniforms. No actual training as far as makeup application if in a retail store.
Advice to Senior Management
Give more information about new and upcoming products and collections to artists and employees so that they may relay the info to customers who have seen or heard about the products online or elsewhere before hand.
Pros
Great Artistry Training
Exposure to large audience and demographic
Hands-on learning - 'try it and see' attitude
Freedom
Met a lot of upper management
Cons
Little to no recognition for job well done
Very little direction on job performance
No structure
High expectations with tight time frame
Advice to Senior Management
Be more aware and realistic with expectations and goals
Allow field staff to make more effective decisions
Work as hard as you expect your employees to
Pros
I believe in the company -- what we're doing and what we're creating. One benefit of working for a large company is that you are able to have stuff completed by other departments for yours (such as printing, tech support, etc.)
Cons
One of its drawbacks is its technology and data management. The technology of the company is poorly integrated. So many different software systems, many outdated, that often show figures that differ.
Advice to Senior Management
Integrate all technology. Improve cross-functional dialogue.
Pros
they share a lot of information
Cons
smalls teams a lot of work
Pros
Estee Lauder makes sure to train thier employees well and provides excellent classes to do so. The gratis is reasonable. Those are the prime benifits it also depends what store you work in.
Cons
There is an extremly small chance of moving up within the company. You must be a top preformer producing over $200,000 a year in sales to move up. Management is only nice when you produce sales, regardless of the stores circumstance. However if you are sucessfull at selling which is difficult for some people, You are rewarded and recognized.
Advice to Senior Management
Please comtinue to work with beauty advisors to provide them with all the nessesary knowledge of products. Perhaps showing them how to properly build a stong client base could change your unsucessful beauty advisors.
Pros
It has tons of room for growth you make great friends, management wants you to helo excees in the company.
Cons
Lots of women so tons of arguing, the counter is not that organized so many stock problems, clients files are lots of work.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to listen to people on the counter more care about what they are saying, and make them feel like they are doing a great job.
Pros
Good products, good benefits, feels comfortable
Cons
The sun shines only on a favoured few, not always on the basis of what they deliver. Good performance can go unrewarded for years.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a long hard look at some of your management
