Pros
you get to make a lot of woman happy. if you love people and make up.
Cons
no growth within the company. severe mismanagement, unprofessional. no employee confidentiality. If you have any integrity, intelligence or drive to innovate and develop as a professional - this is not the place for you.
Advice to Senior Management
do the right thing! if not karma will catch up to them soon. it's the law of cause and effect!
Pros
I love doing makeup ! Lots of trainging available
Cons
too many managers constantly being watched and micromanaged
Pros
Good work life balance. Many people leave at 5:30pm.
They make great products people love.
Easy to get discount product.
Cons
Very slow advancement.
Very little training. The little training there is not respected or considered favorably by potential hirers.
No career planning - all advancement requires you apply and network as if each brand were a separate company
They do not value advanced degrees
Upper management (Director and above) makes all important decisions
To be promoted, you are expected to already have been doing higher level/additional work. You are not promoted and than encouraged to grow into the role.
Work culture varies drastically between brands.
Low pay - about 75% of pay at competitors for comparable positions.
Surprising little work is done by external agencies so internal teams do a lot of non-strategic work.
Slow to innovate, except in the digital space.
Not at all ethnically diverse workplace and almost no effort to change that
Advice to Senior Management
Management should amp up training program and university recruiting. Talent should be identified and cultivated.
Pros
-Nice discount
-They do a good job of training new employees and making sure everyone knows about the new products
Cons
There is too much focus on sales numbers, especially on part time sales. Managers seem unconcerned about state of economy. Also constantly having to preform facials on customers can be very draining.
Advice to Senior Management
Relieve the stress! Stop creating a competitive nature among store and employees with frivilous prizes and small money bonuses. People would be much happier if they were compensated for the work we put into the job.
