I have been working at Euler Hermes full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for with decent pay and strong benefits, incredible work/life balance and a great management team that is there to help you succeed at every step along the way. They love to promote from within and there is tremendous flexibility moving around within not just EH but Allianz. Overall it is a great place to work.

    Cons

While the pay is good, it could be better when it comes to business with a broker attached. Internal politics just like at most companies.

    Pros

A very solid product respected by those with specific international trade experience. Global political risk is on the rise and their product fits this need well.

    Cons

constantly changing comp plans and expectations for service while ever growing pressure for new business production has caused many senior people to look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

pick a plan and stick to it

    Pros

Nice atmosphere Learn a lot on markets and international trade Niche market product Potential for career growth internationally

    Cons

A lot of office politics and management sometimes holds you back to change roles

    Advice to Management

Give opportunities to individuals inside the company and trust them with responsibilities instead of doing things behind their backs

I worked at Euler Hermes full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A long established company that was bought out by Euler Hermes ACI in 2007 or so.

    Cons

Turnover in upper management and a lot of confusion after Euler Hermes started calling all of the shots. Company started to change for the worse a few years after being acquired.

    Advice to Management

Not enough consistency at the top, too much turnover and too many changes in policies, procedures, etc. Also, too many people of questionable qualifications promoted.

    A sales factory

I worked at Euler Hermes full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You will likely be working out of your home, which can allow some flexibility, but this flexibility comes with the expectation you produce early and often. Some of the regional leaders are very good and will come out and do all day ride-alongs on appointments to help you improve.

    Cons

If you are a field sales agent, you will be largely on your own to sell a somewhat complicated, and in many cases, unwanted insurance product. You will be on a draw relatively quickly and without a few big sales you will struggle. Beware of entering a market where there is already one or more established agents who will already have established relationships with brokers in the area.
