Of all the top 5 big agencies, Euro RSCG was the other guy.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Euro RSCG Life full-time for more than 5 years

ProsOffices were passable, the employees were mostly careerist from NJ & CT. You usually got out at a decent hour because everyone has to make the train or bus back around 6ish. Overall easy gig.

ConsIt's a job not an adventure.

Takes and takes and takes

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at Euro RSCG Life full-time for more than 3 years

Pros- Some cool people (but no more than other agencies)
- Employee training can be helpful
- In office gatherings (summer BBQs, monthly group birthday celebrations) occasionally relieve the stress
- Correcting the horrible work/life balance is on the radar for leadership

Cons- Antiquated workflow - no electronic approvals/routing
- Everyone above VP seems dedicated to Yes-ing clients at the expense of their employees, while spending all their time on pitches and "internal fluff that will never see the light of day" as someone else here put it
- Horrendous hours
- Many account execs have no idea about how to estimate and set expectations on digital projects

Advice to Senior Management- Comp time and bonuses for extra hours worked
- Focus less on buzzwords and more on making actual changes. Incrementalism works.
- Create a new business group so regular employees don't get pulled off their regular work without volunteering

Just another overgrown pharma ad agency

Account Supervisor (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at Euro RSCG Life

ProsCompetitive salary & benefits, professional development, large network

ConsSingular focus on revenue above all else, lack of agency culture, large network

Advice to Senior ManagementMaintain the core values and principles that helped establish ERL while pushing the agency forward. Regardless of how big the agency network is, you can't be all things to all people (or clients). Stay humble and treat your employees the same as your clients (like valuable commodities).

Its all about Diabetes

Art Director (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at Euro RSCG Life

ProsNice people and civil work hours. Like all pharma places the people are much nicer than the work you have to do.

Conspharma work is mind-numbingly depressing....except in a few instances. You are basically a drug pusher in most of the cases. When not pushing drugs, you are working on pie-in-the-sky stuff that never gets built.

Advice to Senior Managementmanagement needs to roll up its sleeves and get more hands on. they also need to push their clients into new technologies

Frustrating

Senior Vice President (Former Employee)
San Diego, CA

I worked at Euro RSCG Life

ProsLevel of professionalism among staff; good resources; opportunity to work with good clients; compensation was fair; depth of experience in firm

ConsDifficult to get information; pettiness among employees; corporate culture was odd as a result of multi-mergers; integration did not work well

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Smart People. No Egos.

Associate Creative Director (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at Euro RSCG Life

ProsThere's such a feeling of collegiality and respect in the place. Unlike other places I've worked there is very little drama or egos. People form friends quickly and pull together to do work dilligently

ConsThe downsides would have to be that sometimes, working on pharma can be a challenge. The regulatory environment often doesn't offer us a lot of wiggle room with what we do creatively. But hey, its a challenge.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep on winning new business. Stay competitive when it comes to salaries. Think about branching out into wellness and other categories
