Pros
creative environment lends itself to inspiration
Cons
Heavy expectations on junior level positions
Advice to Senior Management
Promote from within to keep staff happy
Pros
- Relaxed environment
- Free breakfast on Mondays
- Bring your dog to work
Cons
- Relatively low pay
- No rhyme or reason as to why the same positions in different divisions have VASTLY different pay
- Incompetent senior managers are allowed to linger forever
Advice to Senior Management
I you allow senior managers to disrespect staff either through discrepancies in compensation or general bad behavior, don't be surprised at the mass exodus!
Pros
Good mid-level and junior people who work hard and make the place fun
New senior management blood should be good
Works to make the atmosphere fun
Has the makings for a good agency
Cons
Senior people tend to be out for themselves--a rather skittish bunch
Lack mentoring or solid training programs across the board
Don't make full use of people's talents or help to develop those talents further
Can't go the extra mile unless it is billable
Advice to Senior Management
Be more straightforward and genuine
Invest in your people
Be more proactive with clients rather than reactive
Practice what you preach
Beef up the strategy and creative talent bench
Pros
Quality of the people working there, quality of the location, quality of the work going out of the agency.
Cons
Complete lack of valorization of the employee's work, no career plan whatsoever. Heavy processes compatible with a small agency but a not one of this size.
Pros
Fun atmosphere, enough room for professional and career growth. There are many creative and smart people here and you get exposed to many different types of work.
Cons
The past few years of economic downturn have made the industry as well as Euro RSCG somewhat of a roller coaster. Some days are great and some not so great.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide more room for growth and career development. Sometimes upper management is to "high up" and you're not sure if they know you on an individual level.
Pros
-really great corporate culture
-beautiful office in a good location
-lots of camaraderie among colleagues
-access to some great international clients
-great parties
-people get along, not much backstabbing, infighting
Cons
-creative output wasn't great
-too much reliance on international accounts
-high turnover
-some nepotism based on personal connections
-have to work weekends regularly
Pros
They really want it to be a collaborative and fun work environment
Cons
Maybe seems women don't have as much chance for advancement. But mgt is pretty fair and likeable, overall still a great place to work.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer more ways to grow in your field, training, or really encouraging people to help with pitches in industries/jobs they have not been exposed to, but might like to try/have skills for.
Pros
The company provides great benefits and there are some very talented people that work at this office.
Cons
The management is somewhat lacking in the ability to motivate employees. Morale at times can be very low.
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate more with the staff!
Pros
Because it is an agency, Euro RSCG gives you good exposure to various industries which can be valuable in future situations
Cons
Too much power in the wrong hands. A few key individuals make all the decisions and never listen to advice.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to take a look at where the company is heading and decide if their actions are in the best interests of the company.
Pros
Certainly dynamic and there are some very talented people in the organisation who are committed to producing excellent results. Some great accounts (globally) and some really lovely people.
Cons
Very awkward organisational culture. Male centric and basic manners seem to be missing for many people. Sharing of knowledge and communication peer to peer and overall collaboration is lacking. There needs to be a cultural shift to keep good staff and remain competitive.
Advice to Senior Management
Start at grass roots and change the culture so that it is conducive to producing the best results possible and keep the best staff. There needs to be executive sponsorship of this change if it is to be effective.
