Current Employee – been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Growing company (although not sure for how long)
Cons – Gilles (Martin) Kingdom.
Employees are pawns. New buzz words: TGHP...Eurofins plan to hire only from without (no internal promotions) to offer top dollars to "Top Grads with High Potential". If you are hoping to advance, sorry, not for you. They want outsiders to come in and measure YOUR efficiency. Oh, and by the way: current Medinet employees? you are about to lose your job to Lancaster....rumor has it, Lancaster is validating a brand new lab to take over all Medinet testing -in secret!...and all current Medinet employees will have to transfer from Chantilly, VA to Lancaster, PA or they are let go...Shhh, it's a secret! How's that for an honest relationship? Beware...this company is not trustworthy! Not the first time and won't be the last time that Eurofins made such an uncaring decision. And they squeeze every drop of your time or you are considered not a team player...
Advice to Senior Management – Your turnover is only the beginning of your woes. Pay attention more to the welfare of your employees and not just on your networking capital. How many times has Des Moines seen turnover? And now your shared services are being transferred to Lancaster? How long until your Lancaster employees get smart? Eventually, the economic environment will improve and you will not be able to retain any more good people because they will be too smart to stay.

Former Employee – worked at Eurofins Scientific
Pros – Able to use science and the scientific method to solve problems in the lab
Excellent benefits
Fun co-workers
Very good location (used to be north-central Des Moines, but is now Southern Des Moines)
Cons – Low pay
Excessive rules (e.g. no music on the job)
Managers can be aloof and treat employees like cattle
Advice to Senior Management – Provide leadership and build an environment where people can want to improve themselves. Recognize employees who go out of their way to do more than they have to.

Former Employee – worked at Eurofins Scientific
Pros – I recieved some industry experience while working as an analyst.
Cons – the environment was anti-intellectual and suppressive of thought due to overhead economic pressure. The air conditioning stopped working.
Advice to Senior Management – none.

Current Employee – been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time for less than a year
Pros – Cabs, Free food (Not good) and friendly people
Short time onsites.
Good pay.
Cons – Please do not join this company. There is no transparency. They tell that job in advanced technologies and after joining you will see that is in very old technologies like classic ASP, VB6 etc. Please be very care full joining in Bangalore location. Also it has filthy rest rooms equivalent to one in bus stands.
Those who go to short term onsite need to serve company for another 10 months even the onsite is for 2 weeks. Otherwise need to payback the onsite expenditure back to company.
No understanding of what we are going to work.
Employee unfriendly, no work from home policy.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep a transparency on what exactly employees work. and about the policies
Please introduce employee friendly policy instead of the unrealistic travel policy.
Also, note that employees stay in a company based on trust and not based on restricted policies.

Current Employee – been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – I'm surprised at the people who say there are no career opportunities with Eurofins. Have been here for a number of years and received numerous promotions. Possibly the location they work and the position they held/currently hold, but I have not found that to be the case. Exceptionally nice people; especially the directors. They value their employees like family.
Cons – Insurance is expensive for families and does not seem to be decreasing as the number of employees increases, which is what I would expect with so many acquisitions. If you were not on the upper end of the salary range, family insurance would not be affordable. The company is growing extremely quickly, so if you are not flexible, you will find yourself out of the loop and lost in the shuffle. The pay is fair, but not exceptional for expectations.
Advice to Senior Management – Communication, communication...

Current Employee – been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – This is a place where you can gain a good set of skills in the laboratory. In my experience, I had great co-workers who were good to work with. The benefits are good if you are paying for yourself, only.
Cons – One of the major reasons there is a high turnover rate is because of the poor pay. If you are thinking about paying for healthcare for your family or you and your spouse, the premiums are outrageous. Personally, I would have had to use at least 40% of my monthly income to pay for family coverage. I couldn't afford it.
I have known some of the hardest working people who stuck around waiting and waiting for an increase in pay or a job promotion, only to be disappointed.
From what I've seen, upper management will keep those who have worked there for a long time even when they treat newer employees like garbage.
Advice to Senior Management – If you gave your employees pay increases other than the standard cost of living increase, they would have hope for their jobs. I feel like all the hard work that I've done has simply gone unnoticed.

Current Employee – been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – very dynamic, entreprenarial, smart and nice to work with people
Cons – not mature (poor process and tools), carreer evolutions are messy
Advice to Senior Management – play a much closer attention to the carreers of your employees

Former Employee – worked at Eurofins Scientific part-time
Pros – Management was decent. Time off wasnt too hard to obtain for vacas. They do promote from within often
Cons – Little to know upward mobility. Pay was bad. Everybody from upper management to the lower rungs were departing reallly, really quickly.
I didn't hold a key position, but in the main national service side had like 6-8 people left in a one year times. The head purchasing and IT left - and where I worked (lab side), people left much faster due to being hourly and given very little upward opportunities
