I worked at EvensonBest full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good benefits, base pay and clean office environment. Clear delineation of duties with ample (too many?) staff.

    Cons

Difficult to advance within company, No routine review (30, 90, 1 year, etc), Lack of communication between departments, Graphics and presentation need serious updating

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A more relaxed work environment makes for happier (read: more productive) employees. Regularly inform departments of updates, clear up communication from top down, and minimize cross-talk / cascade effect

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook

I worked at EvensonBest full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great internal structures, processes and procedures.

    Cons

Long hours, management disconnected with what actual employees do, no room for advancement, lots of internal politics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize and reward employees for their successes. Continued training. Vacations are allowed and should be encouraged. There has to be a balance between work and personal life to prevent burn out.

    Pros

You are able to learn the ins and outs of the contract furniture dealership side of things. You also meet some great vendor respresentatives.

    Cons

The employees are usually no more than high school educated, with no manners or respect for other employees. Managers are somewhat incompetent and work ethics are non-existant. Clients are not treated with enough customer service care. Salespersons and Project Managers consistently make errors and blame others for their mistakes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Control and educate your staff better! Your salespeople should be more knowledgeable of the products they represent. Also, get rid of the dead weight (employees who lose the company money with their numerous mistakes).

    Pros

This is a great company to work for. They are professional and always give you a work load you can work with.

    Cons

They put temporary workers just in a conference room. They don't give them the proper space to work well, or give them work beyond a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think the management of the company should hire workers more often internationally a promote them to better positions in the company.
