    Great Company with Inspiring CEO

    Director (Former Employee)

ProsThere are so many positives about Event 360 that I think this is the primary reason that so many original employees have stayed with this 10 year old company. All the pillars of a great working environment are there:
    - Great people
    - Cooperative, collaborative and responsive management
    - Small enough to impact change quickly yet still be the leader in a niche field
    - Ability to work with amazing non-profits
    - Work that "means more" (meaning you aren't pushing a widget or tool ... but are looking to make am impact on the social condition)
    - Work / life balance
    - Organization is 90% virtual so working from home is the norm.

Overall, it is a great organization to work for.

ConsCULTURE: There is a VERY strong culture within this organization, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But, if you don't fit the mold it is can be difficult/uncomfortable for those without thicker skin. They do typically hire people that have a connection (sometimes long term) to employees which can contribute to the culture being a bit homogenous.

CREATIVITY: This is an outcrop of the first problem, by relying on what has worked in the past or surrounding yourself with like-minded people, creativity can be stunted sometimes which will impact the organization's ability to be innovative.

CHANGE VS. REACTION: Given their laser focus on event fundraising, you would think that this team would be at the forefront of the next "Big Thing," but they are often playing catch-up and improving old ideas instead of being the thought leader.

SALARY and GROWTH: I don't know if this is necessarily a con, but salaries are typically lower than market and their is limited upward mobility. What makes this less of a red flag, is that I believe employees are very committed and willing to work very hard because they love the work and the clients or causes the organization serves. Everything Event 360 touches is about making the world a better place or moving the mission of so many non-profits that pay or advancement isn't the highest priority for staff.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook for talent and monitor trends outside the event fundraising bubble and Event 360 circle. If passion for the work is a differentiator for the organization, get new people involved ASAP in the many events (regardless of thier job title) you touch so that they can "get it" and understand what makes Event 360 unique. Continue to leverage the inspirational power that the CEO, Jeff Shuck has and that so many of the employees emulate to the market. Don't overlook or discount people who don't act exactly like the "old staffers." You can win new markets by showing them why the company is so different ... because it cares about impact and social responsbility.

Lots of changes, all the time.

ProsGreat people to work with in a virtual environment.

ConsNot a lot of stability, keep the top guns and should be looking up before cutting down.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook closely at the people who have been around forever, are they helping or hurting? Too many are complacent. Look at what you have and do some shifting around, you have great talent before your eyes, just not in management, but should be.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
