Growing company, a lot of work!

Senior Systems Engineer (Former Employee)
Jacksonville, FL

I worked at EverBank Financial full-time for more than a year

ProsGreat opportunities to grow and be involved in new technologies. Most of the management is extremely helpful and is willing to hear you out. You control your own destiny and as long as you are willing to go above and beyond you will do well. I loved my job and loved the people who I worked with.

ConsWork hours! Expected to perform work during the day and then when you have to make changes on any of the systems you are expected to work then as well. I was working an average of 10 - 12 hours a day for about a year. Just about burned me out. I was also expected to be on call and answer the phone even when I wasn't

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure there is a work/life balance. Understand what hours your employees are putting in so that you understand when certain things don't get accomplished when you expect them.

Training a joke, and too aggressive to customers

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at EverBank Financial

Prospay was ok. supervisors good. human resources department is very responsive and good. good benefits and competitive salary as far as i can tell.

Conscould be an impersonal atmosphere. sometimes seemed to encourage dealings with customers that were cold and robotic and not very humane customer service.

I worked at EverBank Financial full-time for more than a year

ProsPaid vacations, holidays and sick days, working with colleagues was excellent and they have a very attractive interest that brought in business.

ConsSmall bank and very little room for any type of advancment. Hopefully that will change in the future. Banking system is very time consuming.

Uncaring Work Environment

Underwriting (Former Employee)
Jacksonville, FL

I worked at EverBank Financial full-time for more than a year

ProsThe employees on my team were hard working and qualified. The company seems to be strong financially. Employees are compensated well.

ConsExecutive management's lack of concern over treatment by some senior managers on their team. Some of the senior management obtained their position by "who they know", not "what they know". This affects the morale of all of the hard working employees, especially when those managers create a work environment that makes employees dread coming to work each day.

Advice to Senior ManagementPick of the phone and call some of the employees - be concerned about the work environment. Employees are still your best asset.

Depends on the department you are working

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at EverBank Financial

ProsStock is going up which means they are making money.

ConsAs any position, the work experience is as good as the person whom you report. My experience was poor leadership. However it was not in all areas of the bank just the line of business I was working.

Neopitism and Gender Bias Running Rampant

Marketing (Current Employee)
Jacksonville, FL

I have been working at EverBank Financial full-time for more than a year

ProsLove my co-workers
Management tries to keep morale up
Extremely knowledgeable worker-bees.
Benefits are awesome. Health insurace rates are extremely reasonable with Company picking up a majority of the tab.

ConsThe atmoshpere is one of uncertainty. It is very noticeable that mainly men get promoted and put into postions of authority (very few exceptions to the rule). It also helps to be related to or be the best friend of a manager to get hired and avoid going through the normal vetting process.
Communication from higher up in a timely manner would be beneficial.

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate information to the employees before they read it or see it on the news.
Tell the people actually doing the work what is expected. Do not leave it to middle-management.

Coul be a great place to work, even though salaries are low.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Islandia, NY

I worked at EverBank Financial full-time for more than a year

ProsThe staff is awesome, hardworking and willing to help whenever necessary. They take new people in and allow them 90 days to either sink or swim.

ConsUpper Management treats people as if they were expendable, and with a lack of respect. It's as if they expect everyone to be a robot and think and act the same. Salaries are extremely low and raises are even lower.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat people with respect and dignity, and they will work for you. Work on salary increases, it a shame to train someone for a few years only to lose them to a bank that the salary is higher, work on retention.
