I have been working at Evergreen Aviation Ground Logistics Enterprise

    Pros

Challenging work environment, good benefits, good opportunities for career growth and advancement, well established long standing business, privately held company, headquarters located in a nice small community in a beautiful setting just outside of Portland, OR

    Cons

Harsh work environment, strong-arm, militaristic management style, cash poor, high employee turnover, depressed industry (aviation and postal), no training/educational or personal development programs for employees, no incentive compensation, owner heavily involved in the business, weak, experienced management team, shoddy equipment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improved communication and planning are needed, including strategic planning. A higher value should be placed on employees and minimizing turnover. More incentives and less intimidation are needed to drive long term, sustainable growth. Most glaring need is additional working capital to improve cash management. More experienced and professional management is needed with less interference from owner.

I have been working at Evergreen Aviation Ground Logistics Enterprise

    Pros

None, There Are no positive aspects With employment at Evergreen

    Cons

Very militaristic 60s mentality and management. The owner May have been Capable at one time time but at this point he is incompetent and running the company into the ground along with personnel
The company is so far in debt due to mismanagement that they have eliminated the company Contributed retirement , 401(k) matching , and have been delaying paydays for the last nine months

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At this point it's too late , Upper management Doesn't care what anybody thinks And is afraid to make the right choices. It's only there to follow the directions of the owner without question No matter how wrong it is. The company is a lumbering dinosaur Waiting to die.

They have the motto backward. Should read: "Compromise of Quality for decent results"

I have been working at Evergreen Aviation Ground Logistics Enterprise

    Pros

This could be a great company to work for if the some of the Senior Management actually had any operational experience. Only a handful have actually worked their way up or know what it is like for the front-line agents. The benefits package is actually really good (if you are in a position lucky enough to get one).

    Cons

Very micro-managed company. Elitist style President and CEO (their words are commands, not to be questioned); Communication has to go through multiple chains in order to get an answer that could have been fixed at station level. Very tight grip on finances (takes several months to get basic safety supplies); Expect to work very long hours with no support from above. Senior Management that make the decisions and the guys that sell the contracts have little idea how much it takes to turn a flight (staffing, equipment needs). Contracts are low bid and generate low revenue, putting more of a strain on stations to train or hire adequate staffing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up and utilize the people around as well as tap into the talent of the people that you do have. Their ideas could shift and move the company into a positive manner. Give the basic front-line agents incentive to stay with higher wages for long terms. Give support to station management for authority to do what is needed in their respective stations as appropriate on a regional level and not have to go higher for answers. Build and allow for investment of training at each station and not rely on just one person to do it all. Invest time into training new hires properly will promote a more efficient and work environment in order to attract new clients. Quality breeds quality. This will play into the company slogans everywhere in the system, " Quality without compromise."
