I worked at Evertec full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Met lots of incredibly talented people and all they were all committed to giving it their all. Good benefits.

    Cons

Oncall shifts, lots of work after-hours, bureaucratic internal processes, company policies make it harder to complete tasks.

    Advice to Management

A thorough business process reengineering is desperately needed. Too many redundant processes that can surely be optimized.

    Pros

    Cons

To much bureaucracy. Some people seem to be wtaching out for the service stadistic more than for the service itself. More atencion is put into the numbers than the clients.

    Advice to Management

Less Red Tape, Eliminate charge Backs,

    Pros

money................ thanks to the state of the economy in the island, it is soon to be one of the only places to work in puerto rico ....

    Cons

people are hired because of who they know/family/friends of manager/ceo etc. and not for their abilities; client is always right mentality taken to the absurd extreme; the more you work and the better you are at it does not translate into higher salary and more benefits - the better you are at something, the more work they give you; work that should have been done months or years ago but they gave the job to someone who was completely underqualified (probably a friend or familiy of the manager or board member), so now YOU have to do it, and with an unreasonable deadline, and the credit still goes to the president's son/niece/friend/whatever (who doesnt know understand anything, and never will)

    Advice to Management

get paid less and distribute it to the people who really work

    Pros

Health insurance, retirement plan, nice enviroment

    Cons

there are no development oportunities, low salary in comparation to other companies

    Advice to Management

valorize more the current employees, so they don't need to look for another company, the work is great, the pay sucks

I have been working at Evertec full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

it has a good work environment, the co workers are great and a good place to learn on the go about handling Huge datasets.

    Cons

long hours, administration always wants evrything by yesterday, employee compesations for their work is non existant, salary is laughably not to market value of employees

    Advice to Management

would be great if they took the time to compensate the long hours and to keep their employees happy, training on new technologies would be great and to better evaluate the delivery time to clients.

I worked at Evertec full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

One of the best IT companies in Puerto Rico, lots of interesting and engaging projects to be part of. They offer very good benefits (401K, health insurance, performance bonus). During the time I worked there I had the chance to participate in their work-from-home program, which was a good 'pro' for my work-life balance. The best memory I have of this company is its people, its employees definitely make this company a fun place to work.

    Cons

Professional growth in terms of promotions takes too long to achieve and be ready to stay with your same salary for quite some time. Salaries are not up to average.

    Advice to Management

There should be more focus in professional growth. More training opportunities as well as better chances to engage in different projects, move between the different groups. Salaries should be brought up to this century.
