Focus on growth rather than quarterly profits

Good Telecom(not core telecom who work with protocol level stuff) s/w company

If you have capabilites, you will grow in the company (may be promotion for each 1 or two years)

No technical growth, only certain products have few known technologies outside
No good process orientation
New processes which are useless and add more pressure to employee work
You might be doing 2 to 3 persons of job when compared to other IT companies
Client-interacting managers will never say 'NO' to clients,
You have to work, work and work there is no other choice
They need atleast 90% utilization of every resource every day...lot of pressures
You ll feel like you are thrown out the technology growth happening outside

Do not expect 90% utilization from every body always...management should sheild the employees from pressure coming from the client side.
Add better processes.
Add more employees, so less pressures
If you have less employees, then you need to pay more to retain them.
More employees, moderate work, moderate salary will keep the company healthy.

The environment is so good that most of people have been around for over 10 years

You are doing well , keep going!
Some salary increase more often would not be displeasing.
Pros
Flexibility in work schedule; recognition of the complexity of the job and the fact that work doesn't simply "happen" in 40 hours a week, 8-5. The "Office Moms" were the best benefit ever... ordering lunch, keeping the break rooms stocked. I loved the work environment... good conference rooms, good offices, good technology. I had a great staff at Evolving systems.
Cons
Finance, mediocre management decisions... promotion of female managers was limited - and their titling and positions seemed to rank below thier peers. Perhaps too much attention was given to individual offices and benefits, and not enough to keeping the company afloat.
