I have been working at Executive Ship Management as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Challenging vessels, good learning exp., all Indians, On-time salary, Good Technical support

    Cons

Crew welfare is not given much importance, Sign-on and off is not on time, in some cases the level of competence in the officers is very poor and requires a lot of training, leave and performance bonus deductions in the contract is very high, salary is not at par with the market, mostly unnecessary stress is imparted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management must try to create an atmosphere wherein the seafarer looks forward to his/her return for the next assignment more out of his/her choice, than compulsion. The advise and evaluation from senior ship staff should be respected and acted upon, after due consideration and discussion. Create more transparency.

They exploit at times......even asked psid wages back on few ships whose owners ran bankrupt........... be careful before giving away your documents..... no accountability...... no good employee relationship.......llvery less retention.........

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
