    I worked at Exel Logistics

    Pros

Pay is reasonable for management but could be better. Some upper management is very competent and knowledgeable about the business.

    Cons

A lot of favoritism shown by upper management towards supervisors. Promotions were not made based on ability but more on relationships and longevity.

    I worked at Exel Logistics

    Pros

I cannot think of a positive word or phrase.

    Cons

Long hours, lousy pay. Hourly employees literally get nickeled and dimed on increases. Upper management was blind to the problems in the HR function.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop paying below market, and you might see less more quality hires, plus retention.

    Pros

they treat you well but each warehouses vary, depending on management
Benefits are decent and 401k contributions and Big company with multiple warehouses so its easy to transfer
    You can learn a lot

    Cons

employee turnover is high- very high ,expect drastic shifts, but it is a warehouse environment
Management plays favorites, Does and says things so it looks good to their boss then does differently behind the scenes.
They care about $$ and production # and push for production, focus less on employees....expect to have them ask you to "jump" and they WILL expect you to say "how high" - thats the only way you'll move up...
pay is lower than average and expect to be on call for management. Material handlers pay is okay. They low-ball and do research/competitive on lower paying warehouses.Typical warehouse/ grungy environment- no professionalism...Unfortuately....just some of the bad stuff and Its known to be like this at every warehouse

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

maybe upper management should surprise visit- if ever or have undercover, you'll see a lot of unethical and shady things that go around. Even the " best " warehouse has its flaws- that's what will lead to that downfall and another site lost due to bad management. Something needs to be done before the customer realizes it and move on.

    Pros

Pay is competitive among service provider companies; overall competent and capable senior management team; some highly intelligent and professional managers that are able to retain high quality talents

    Cons

Managers that were promoted internally from warehouse/operations were not property trained and do not have basic people management skills; they pretty much ruin the culture with their own "management rules". Power play in senior management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provid sufficient training to your managers if they are promoted form the floor mainly because they have worked there long enough; prepare them to face and manage staff that could be more intelligent or higher educated than themselves; conduct reviews on managers incuding evaluating the turnover in his team and interview his team members for feedback; An incompetent manager could cost the Company's human asset easily.
