Lots of opportunity for overtime, work closely with coworkers, abilities to move up in company

    Cons

Minimal breaks, management can be quite unmotivating, physically demanding, work can be tedious

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the advice of the workers more, many people presented good ideas that where never put in place and made life more difficult for them.

I worked at Exel full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - You can learn a large amount of information as you will where many hats
    - There are a few very talented people with the company, when you find them most are willing to teach you anything they can
    - A good place to "pay your dues" in logistics before moving on

    Cons

    - 60+ hours weekly for months or years are not uncommon
    - Mid to top level management have extreme lack of leadership skills
    - I have literally witnessed meetings and conference calls in which half of the time was who should be blamed for an issue rather than how to fix said issue
    - Teaches management theory of riding employees while taking credit for their work
    - Extremely high turnover, 40% of employees do not see year three
    - Poor on boarding of new customers, many times the Business Development sells a product that Exel simply cannot uphold

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Exel full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very well run company. A lot of communication of plans and objectives
Significant depth of other professionals and industry experts in the company

    Cons

The structure can be a little stifling, does not allow a lot of creativity.
Culture has not adjusted through the years with all the acquisitions, all are expected to adjust to a set of norms that you would never really know if you hadn't been part of it for years.
