Pros
this is a large industry , so there i get so many opportunity to do work and chance to learn lot of experience.
Cons
worker are not help full , there is lac of responsible operator make the work completed delay . all the work done by my responsibilities.
Advice to Senior Management
give the perfect respect according to their position. give the perfect over time money and encourage them to do work with happiness.
Pros
Benefits package is average to good, time off is usually granted with ease, flexible hours, good people to work with below the senior management range.
Cons
Priorities do not seem to be aligned with today's market, annual bonus taken away, salary ranges are below industry standard.
Pros
Good pay. Interesting industry with a lot of variety in the processes required to make a battery. Have a huge opportunity to leverage there global stance and experience in the AGM market.unfortunately the complete lack of systems and abysmal production efficiencies guarantee they will get left in JCI and East Penn's dust.
Cons
Weak leadership. No ability to create a cohesive global company. Still feels li,e a conglomeration of multiple companies. Continuously losing ,market share. Continually closing plants... You name it.
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of dead weight. Focuses on plant productivity and cost reductions. Plants need to be autonomous and should house resident experts. Centralized engineering structure is out dated, costly, and ineffective.
Pros
Good benefits, great hourly wage for hourly employees! Best in area.
Cons
No room for advancement within certain departments unless you are willing to relocate to corporate office in GA.
Pros
Home every night, good equipment to work with, weekends off, assigned trucks and assigned routes, electric pallet jacks, great healthcare benefits
Cons
Unstable work load, no bonuses, difficult to get personal time off when needed, slow pay raises, no safety bonuses, management does not enforce rules/expectations
Pros
I must say that the best parts of working for Exide is the people. The next is the experiences that I share with these people.
Cons
Some of the ideas of the employees sometimes seem to fall on deat ears or are answered by saying"well we never did things that way here."
Advice to Senior Management
Think outside the box sometimes. Listen to the people that do the job and stop over thinking everything. It seems to me that you like to over complicate things that are simple fixes.
Pros
Pay, benefits, a few very good people to work with, in a better economy these would not be reason enough to remain with this company
Cons
Corporate management tries to run the local facility from behind a desk and computer over 700 miles away. There is no consideration for the 'working' people.
Advice to Senior Management
Quit trying to micro-manage every aspect of our local facility. Tell us what needs to be done but let the folks who do the work every day , and those who have done it for decades, decide the best way to accomplish it. Most of management doesn't know a battery from a bullfrog but they think they can tell us how to do the job.
Pros
the people that you work with are great and they stand by you over all in your choices of what to do with your life if you get hurt out there.
Cons
the hours, the way you are treated by mangement and if you get hurt out there they do everything in their power to make your life so bad and make where you dont want to be out there so you end up quiting or you miss so much that they fire you.
Advice to Senior Management
go out on the floor and see what the people are complaining about and dont fix things that are broken. learn that safety should be the most important thing not quanity.
Pros
exide manufacturing was special experience with right balance of independence, accountability and guidance. there was direction provided from the top with sufficient room to innovate as well. lots of opportunity to learn manufacturing.
Cons
not much of cons really. if you are looking for sophisticated high tech manufacturing environments, they have it some of their factories, not all of them.
Advice to Senior Management
very competent and helpful management
Pros
Generally good pay. You get paid a base wage plus an incentive. The more you produce, the more you get paid.
Cons
It can get very hot during the summer months. 120 degrees or higher in some areas.
Advice to Senior Management
Get out on the floor more and see what's goin on.
