    Pros

The company fosters a culture that expects a lot from employees. Team members work together to achieve deadlines. Clear, defined, job roles help new employees learn quickly and understand the path to advancement. Excellent 401(k) package. Non union!

    Cons

Inflexible working hours. Poor vacation benefits. Growing too quickly and might lose the culture

    Advice to Management

Keep employees better in the loop about company strategy; often, production staff is unaware of important changes from top management. Need an internal PR person to keep the culture in check.

    Cons

Slow raises and supervisors have favorites

    Advice to Management

Pay more hourly. Get rid of supervisors who yell at people.

    Pros

Profit sharing is probably the best thing about this company.

    Cons

Some folks in management have their favorites (i.e. relatives and close family friends) and if you're not of them you will not succeed in this company.

    Pros

A few of the people are nice. Some very knowledgeable individuals to learn from if given the opportunity..

    Cons

The way they toss me people aside. ..cliques are obviously already formed. .company talks about growth. ..not sure how they will grow if their people won't show it to. Lean manufacturing nightmare. Clean is not a word they understand. they say safety is a priority yet the safety protocols in play are laughable, not provided or not supported...good work is rarely acknowledged yet if a mistake is made you better believe you'll hear about it. Ask the same question to 10 people get ten different answers. Don't even bother asking the question "why?"

    Advice to Management

Notice the new people in your department. Listen to them, offer them support, be open to change when applicable. Live what you preach for God's sake..probably the worst job I've ever had. Low pay for the amount of effort and work done.

    Pros

Profit sharing typically gives out a large bonus twice a year. Many employees stay at exotic for decades. The company is small enough to initiate improvements very rapidly, and large enough to support, develop, and provide opportunities for advancement. Exotic Metals has been growing for a long time and is currently expanding.

    Cons

Standardization of processes could be improved in some areas. The company has a very down to earth, focused on results attitude, which sometimes holds them back from reaching the best solutions and practices.

    Advice to Management

I think it would be wise to invest more in compensation for new employees.

    Pros

Fast paced work environment, held high standard for quality of work. Ability to learn and grow as an engineer with this company. If nothing else, you will be able to take away a lot of knowledge and skills from this job on to your next.

    Cons

Engineering management does not take the time to mentor new hire engineers. The expectation is that new engineers know all, can keep up with the same pace of work of seasoned veterans and do not make mistakes. Verbal harassment is high on one of the engineering teams in particular.

    Advice to Management

Engineering leadership had a lack of commitment to training, mentoring and the general development of new engineers.

    Pros

Work for an extremely high quality aerospace manufacturing company. Great position to learn about all aspects of the company, Do a great job at rotating their interns to experience engineering.

    Cons

Company is slow to change. Have a hard time implementing lean concepts

    Pros

The people are the greatest aspect of this company. Everyone on the shop floor next to you works hard and is proud of their efforts. They put you through a week long orientation course to understand the company, values and culture. Think long term, if you are all about the money then don't apply. Their benefits and profit sharing make a competitive pay structure but you have to invest your career in the long term (3-5 years). Supervisors are strong in communicating just ask if you want to transfer or are seeking more training or education. They are very vocal for their employees to gain more responsibilities and training. Awesome place, people and product the best in the world! They have PTO for every holiday, separate from your normal days off.

    Cons

If you are not committed to the company, short term the pay up front isn't great. After a year when you're fully invested it pays off. Recently the past few years there was a lot of growth, added hundreds of new people without fully vetting them for the company culture. Most have been weeded out and they are adding management to fill the gaps slowly. Interview process takes a while, you have to be patient.
Definitely focused on completing timelines and metric performance. Management doesn't breath down your neck or anything but there is pressure to meet the deadlines for the internal and external customers. Stress can build over time.

    Advice to Management

Improve on determining the performance evaluation raises at a competitive level. They are slower than other companies I have worked for/ or increase the starting wage a bit to compensate. Profit sharing is awesome. HR should connect more on the shop floor, it would be easier if they walked around and did tie-ins with the departments every now and then.
Work on keeping the overtime to a minimum, maybe consider some part time workers to fill the gaps so we can go home on time everyday.
