    Pros

    some co-workers were incredibly smart and fun (though they have mosly moved on from this department)

    Cons

    Most unprofessional mid-to-senior management, made decisions on personal emotions rather than what's best for the business. Lack of respect, poor work/life balance, low compensation, literally forced to "look like we are having fun," did not foster a collaborative team environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to those below you who are actually doing the work and making things happen. Show them respect. Pay attention to what's going on: Bullying, harrassment, age discrimination, power trips to prevent people from doing their jobs, not allowing people to succeed, blocking people from moving to other internal opportunities--it was rampant. High numbers of people quitting without jobs lined up and/or being pushed out overnight for no real business reason should be a big, bright, waving red flag that something is seriously wrong with leadership. For the sake of the few good people who stayed, I can only hope somebody has since noticed and improved matters. Seeing I'm unfamiliar with the current CEO, maybe it has improved?

    Free activities, potential to make good commission if in the right location, decent hours depending on location, good health benefits.

    Cons

    Very unprofessional management, lack of respect for employees, favoritism based on personal relationships, etc

    Pros

    -PERKS
         -Access to all major attractions
         -Free meals at most local upscale restaurants
         -Bring home cash most days ($10-$50)
         -Enjoy local entertainment at the cost of the company

    Cons

    It is hospitality which isn't for everyone.
    Most days include 1 or 2 annoyed customers. Good communication and strong customer support are fairly necessary.

    Pros

    -Lots of little perks from local businesses. Not from Expedia though.
    -Money CAN BE decent if you are placed at the right hotel property.
    -Flexible management to give you time off.
    -Plenty of time to do other things. Good Work and Life balance.
    -involvement in the local community is a feel good thing and a good boost for employee moral.

    Cons

    -They say they only hire part time employees, but they hire full time employees to..(they play favorites)
    -If you are hired on as a part time employee be sure you don't rely solely on this job. You won't survive.
    -New hire training does very little to prepare you for the job and you are practically thrown to the wolves.
    -The job pay is extremely imbalance, depending on which hotel you are working at. It can vary by more $20,00 more a year with people working the same job as you but at a different hotel.
    -Lots and Lots of computer issues that can ruin sales constantly and it effects not only your one to ones with management and the shifts you will work but also your paycheck.
    -Guest traffic is very sporadic... it is brutally slow most of the time and when it's busy it can be almost too much to handle.
    -You are forced to sell Lanyards and those drawstring backpacks even if a guest doesn't want them and they teach you to add them into every sale and then they tell you not to give them a receipt so they don't see the additional charge. Along with that they push you to sell dinner shows to everyone and no matter how well you do they will always be upset if you don't sell these things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    -Be more reliable to your staff.
    -Prepare them better for the workplace by focusing on the computer software and technical things. Not on sales.
    -Fix the computer issues and get more reliable vendors for local attractions.
    -Push all of the attractions and vendors that you sell not just Dinner shows.
