I worked at Expedia full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Training was comprehensive; excellent pay and benefits; many different opportunity areas for advancement. If you are interested, there are several paths for advancement to GLOBAL positions.

    Cons

Not very forgiving if you have speed bumps crop up in your life. If you aren't able to be there when scheduled, you will be written up. Though it didn't happen to me, some of my co-workers were let go due to family emergencies that caused them to not be able to work their assigned shifts. If you are hired, be sure you can work without interruptions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would encourage upper management to audit their recruiters to be sure the recruiters are contacting the qualified applicants. I know some people who have applied but never received feedback advising them if they were considered or not.

I have been working at Expedia full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent base pay with the opportunity to make a generous amount of commission when in tuned with the companies "process". Excellent benefits and perks come with this travel company. If you have a decent relationship with the management, your able to move into other departments in the company. Great company that people should want to be apart of, but leadership is in need of refocusing their purpose in the company.

    Cons

Mid level management. Some supervisors not being technically proficient in all facets of what their position requires. Some supervisors excellent at coordinating games and taking longer lunch breaks because their entitled to while the work horse supervisors go the extra mile carrying the load of others. Directives are passed mainly through email along with minimal training or meetings to know the status of performance or company. Bottom line transparency is an issue.

I worked at Expedia full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent travel benefits. Some talented agents and management members within the organization.

    Cons

Culture is not conducive to collaboration. New manager at the time took gossip for gospel which lead to toxic work relationship. Work life balance does not exist as it's a 24/7 contact center.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Cut and restart management.

I worked at Expedia full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The company provided adequate training support for new hire employees and training for existing employees after significant changes.
Good benefits (insurance, travel discounts, vacation time)

    Cons

Management and Human Resources were ignorant of (or simply defied) employment law. Discrimination against protected classes was encouraged and sexual harassment was common. Whistleblowers received no protection and were punished for standing up to the illegal/inappropriate "status quo."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management and Human Resources personnel need additional training in employment law compliance.

I have been working at Expedia full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has low cost health benefits and above average pay. They are constantly challenging you to go above and beyond what you think you can do and are open to fresh ideas. Looks good on your resume.

    Cons

Little reward for great effort, empty promises. They are continually downsizing your vacation and benefits in non salary positions. No support from management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your employees to make good decisions. Stop the micromanaging and allow us to do our job. Promote more from within. It is nearly impossible to be promoted in the Springfield office. Recruiting and management in the Springfield office tends to overlook long term hard working employees in favor of external candidates. It promotes an atmosphere of distrust between long term employees and management.

    Pros

Good benifits and vacation hours..good pay when you can get paid..

    Cons

horrible middle management!! if you would like to lie, cheat and kiss ass to make a living this job is for you! supposed to be a job that promotes within. after 3 years of working here, i have watched several people come and go, its just a big revolving door... they hire people for upper management that have never been on the phones, taken a sales call for the company or even worked in a telesales enviorment, instead of promoting thier tenur agents.SUPER SHADY MANAGEMENT.. you will get NO where in this company unless you are sleeping with the scum bag bosses or cheating..

    Pros

    Good pay
    Benefits are decent

    Cons

Awful management who backstabs you to get ahead
Wrongfully accusing employees of things even though it has been reported
    Drama and gossip
Lazy management who loves to chat with others than do their job. Also rude and thinks they're god.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the egotistical managers and get new ones.
Actually look into matters before wrongfully accusing your employees.
Hire better customer service that actually speaks English and isn't lazy.
