  • Great benefits if you are a lead or higher you get a monthly bonus (in 13 reviews)

Cons
  • Over two years seems to be the norm now which can be frustrating since the pay is low as a temp along with no medical or dental benefits (in 13 reviews)

  • Occasionally the dress code becomes a bit ridiculous, but I prefer having one too strict than one that is too transparent (in 22 reviews)

    Pros

The people are nice and friendly. Especially non management personnel. Some of the management will listen to ideas and take an interest in their employees.

    Cons

Some of the management does not take an interest in its personnel. They concern themselves with meeting goals and making a profit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Benefits (bus pass, medical insurance premiums are 100% paid for family)
If you work for the right management chain, you can be happy.
Company is stable, profitable and secure.
    Senior management is trustworthy.
Growth is yours to seek and earn if you're motivated.

    Cons

The biggest con is that everyone's experience greatly differs.
-There is no consistency from group to group (Information Services) or manager to manager. -There are some managers and senior managers who have no business being in the role they're in.
-Teams pick up other teams' slack even if it's not their discipline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

IS Senior Management - evaluate your delegates and ask yourself if they are the right people for the job. What do your employees think of the people they work for? Find out. Act accordingly.

    Pros

Stable. Great insurance benefits. I have a good work/life balance and have had to work very little overtime. You can work here for a long time, and slowly/surely amass some wealth via stock.

    Cons

Hierarchical to the core. The "EXPD CULTure" is a little hard to swallow. If you can't accept the culture, you should skip it. This is not the place for free spirits... Starting out vacation time is brutal. You get 3 weeks after your 5th year. Some Java developers need to learn new tricks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Loosen up. If you want to keep great IS people, you might want to look at what other technology companies are doing, and adopt some of their practices.

    Pros

Overall good people to work with. The healthcare benefits were great. I did learn a few things related to my job. A few fun employee outings.

    Cons

Branch was technology illiterate. They did not value their IS people as they saw them as a cost and a hurt to their bonuses. The IS management of that area were all about roadblocks and wanted you to take the same path in your career as they did. The branch management used negative reinforcement more than positive, constantly mentioning the possibility of layoffs and would treat you like a child instead of an educated adult that has talent to offer. Promised me lots of career opportunities then told me I couldn't explore those opportunities once I started so fast, had to wait and jump through hoops first.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value technology, value people more than bonuses.
