Pros
Great benefits, HQ in great location. Some very good people but....not enough of them.
Cons
Unfortunatley they do not promote from within, and not on merit. Lots of dead wood within the company. Senior Managment just goes through the motions in regards to Employee development, creating new opportunities and listening to new ideas. Companies different divisions work in vaccum's, structure of technolgy organization makes little sense with endless power struggles. Watch your back .
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your employees with respect. The morale in the Interactive division is extremely low. Employees are waitng for the economy to improve and then you will see a mass exodus of personnel.
Senior Leadership needs to active professionally and with respect. Please make the change.
Pros
international brand and global leadership position
Cons
lack of internal communication in terms of new policies and changes.
Advice to Senior Management
do listen to your front staff
Pros
Generous vacation and work life balance.
Open work space.
Continuously changing.
Cons
Experian loves having middle management who do nothing and who treat their employees as children. You will a high turn over due to employees quitting Experian. Management does not encourage a positive work environment, nor do they understand the employees are the backbone of the company. The pay is well below industry standards, if it wasn't for the vacation package I don't think anybody would stay. Raises are pretty much non existent even as a top employee, management will try their best to justify why they gave you pennies on the dollar. As for professional growth, one word of advice- RUN! Experian has been consistently cutting jobs, outsourcing and placing hiring freezes. Most managers do not want to mentor, provide feedback and avoid firing low performing employees. Overall, AVOID this place and seek out a company who encourages professional growth with fair pay and fair practices.
Advice to Senior Management
Cut out middle management, they are of no use and do not benefit the department. Yes, when employees call their executive management with concerns please listen. Pay the employees what they are worth or they will just keep going to the competition. Improve and invest in your technology as well.
Pros
Used to be good place, steadily going down hill.
Cons
Upper Mangement doesn't understand working employees. They don't get it. They are constantly changing. I have had probably 5 different bosses in the past 10 years. Even though cost of living is going up and we have been profitable, our raises continue to be next to nothing. You give and give, but they never consider the person who is working more than their 40 hours and giving the company 150%. They just keep taking things away.
Advice to Senior Management
For once consider your employees needs. The people DOING the work need to be considered.
Pros
Experian is a relatively good company. It operates globally, so there are opportunities to travel and/or move. Solid financial performance.
Cons
It's a male dominated company, even though they have women leaders. Typically the women are kept in a secondary position, without clear consideration for the top jobs.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to balance opportunities for first line leadership roles between men AND women. Clean house in CM human resources - leadership there is poor.
Pros
Experiences very much depend upon the team and/or business unit in which you work. Lots of opportunities for recognition and a friendly team environment. Able to work on high profile projects. Management has focused on improving communication and has done a great job of keeping employees informed.
Cons
Limited growth opportunities likely due to too few resources (no place to grow into at various levels). Technology resources on the job are poor or limited.
Pros
Very talented and dedicated employees, team members support each other and will go the extra mile to help meet client commitments. Excellent benefits, a strong focus on making healthy choices and participating in health improvement activities.
Cons
Location plays a huge role in the opportunities that come your way. Schaumburg is the place to be to have job advancement opportunities. In a remote location, the end of the road appears much sooner then if one worked at a main campus.
Pros
Good benefits, opportunity to grow on a global basis, acceleration of innovation over the last few years, very good senior leadership
Cons
Takes some time to get things done due to too many organizations being involved, lack of or very slow paced adoption of more modern, agile technologies on the old core business
Advice to Senior Management
Let's keep up and speed up the pace, we're doing great! I am confident, more than ever, that we are in the right track and that we are executing on our strategic goals!
Pros
Federal holidays off and no weekend work.
Cons
Management is not supportive. You have to be in clicks in order to advance. Training was way too long for the work that has to be done.
Pros
Stable, profitable company. Opportunity to learn different products, markets and functions. Strong online education available for employees who choose to pursue it. Competitive pay and benefits.
Cons
Silos, managerial competition, and some entrenched, inflexible employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to take the employee survey seriously. Focus on becoming more inspirational and less quarter-to-quarter profitability driven.
