I worked at Experian as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

If you take the initiative, there are always opportunities for recognition. You can take on high profile projects and work with members outside your functional group. The team environment is friendly and nurturing, and management is open and receptive.

    Cons

There are few opportunities for career growth within the company. Although they do hire internally, you're more likely to expand within your given role rather than move up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would have been interesting to have more cross-functional team experiences to increase employee ownership of company (versus functional) goals and objectives.

    I worked at Experian

    Pros

Interesting projects coming in with more of a consulting angle. Collaborative work environment is great when you are starting out.

    Cons

Expect potentially long hours in kind of an unexpected manner. Project deadlines dictate whether or not you can maintain a flexible schedule.

Former Employee - Sales in Schaumburg, IL

I worked at Experian full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good company. Great location. Professional staff. Excellent benefits. There is room for moving up in the company, just have to kiss the right tush.

    Cons

Revolving door. Job security can be an issue, even for great employees. Culture is a bit loopy at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the hire/lay off cycle. It creates paranoia among employees and leads to decreased productivity. Have some faith in your employees and invest in them.

    Pros

Excellent training program. Great benefits. Effective managers. Decent starting salary that will increase in 3 months. Bonuses. Overtime . Friendly and welcoming environment . Beautiful building with gym. Great health benefits!

    Cons

I love Experian. This job taught me valuable skills that I will use in future job positions. I just didn't like working at a call center so I left. However, Experian really care about their employees. It a great place to work if you love not having your weekends off and love talking to people,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the great work!

Former Employee - Customer Care Professional in Van Buren, AR

I worked at Experian full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good pay, 40 hours a week, great benefits and potential bonuses, advancement opportunities.

    Cons

Very competitive/demanding atmosphere. Have to have an good sales attitude to be successful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great supervisors here. Keep doing what your doing. On an operations level: Get rid of retention. Asking someone to keep something they have already said they don't want 2 or 3 times is only going to make for a bad experience for both the customer and the agent.
