Former Employee - Regional Sales Manager in Boston, MA

    Pros

Work with fun and interesting people, inspire a broad worldview in young minds, see the world, and receive great benefits - all while working in a convenient downtown location.

    Cons

Overworked, underpaid, under appreciated, difficult to fill in the gaps for turnover, increased job responsibility does not yield an increase in pay, not a lot of profit to share, tight working quarters, cockroaches in the building.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your team through a bottom up management style, compensate loyalty and hard work accordingly, offer professional growth and development - and you will retain an unbeatable team.

Current Employee - Business Development in Boston, MA

    Pros

    - location
    - good health benefits
    - supportive HR

    Cons

    - people are miserable
    - it is a sad place to be, you can't move up and turnover is very high
    - senior management is totally disconnected, there is no clear leadership at the company, and the new president is a dork with little too no leadership credentials

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Boston, MA

    Pros

Location is good, very convenient to the T

    Cons

This company is run by a team of out of touch people who've pretty much only worked here
Senior "leaders" stand in front of entire company and claim mea culpa in how they've run the place for the last 10 years, yet they offer no new ideas on how to fix things
CEO, CFO and Head of IT are all the same person
People at all levels are in roles they clearly should not be
VP of Sales doesn't know how to lead or motivate a team and hasn't had a positive quarter since he took the job
There's no consistent sales commission structure. If there's a way for them to screw you out of money they'll find it
Follow the leader mentality when it comes to being competitive
Morale is low and everyone is very apathetic
    There's no opportunity to grow
    Roaches

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The world around you has changed. You can't run a company like it's still 2001. Your experience and views are stale. Make some big changes at the top to shake things up. Blind loyalty to those under qualified employees who have been there since the start is not working. Learn how to develop a corporate vision then execute it.

Do Your Homework Before You Take A Job Here

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

    Location!
Believing that you will get travel perks.
    Time Off.

    Cons

Don't believe a word they tell you.
Turnover is extremely high, they are not supportive, they don't like new people, the Sales Manager won't look you in the eye, the create an image when you are interviewing but it's all for show.
They keep trying to change how they do things but they simply can't.

Not worth the time or the title on your resume

Former Employee - Sales Executive in Boston, MA

    Pros

    young, energetic staff
    helpful & friendly colleagues
    great location downtown
    good vaca time
travel allowed once a year in the summer

    Cons

    poor work-life balance
    very stressful
no room for growth, or advancement
    minimal and very poor training
Very few make their sales numbers, making a move to another job afterwards difficult
management treats employees without respect, acts as if they are all idiots, and play favorites.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect and trust your employees! Leadership / upper management is poorly trained. When the company doesn't do well, blame is placed first on the bottom tier of employees, rather than focusing on what structural problems are within the company. Great product, terrible place to work.
