I worked at Express part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

There are none i'm just trying to fulfull the 20 word minimum. I can't even say the 30% discount was a pro because that didnt make the clothes any less ugly and overpriced and it still didn't change the fact that I was making minimum wage and getting like no hours and could barely afford to eat.

    Cons

    Everything.
First of all, the management and company policies were horrible.
    1. my training sessions were completely insufficient and I was NEVER trained to use the register
    2. There would be days where I was running the entire fronts of the store (men and women) alone, while simultaneiously having to be on every customers back and trying to force them to buy something (NEWSFLASH: if someone wanted help they would come to ME!!!!!!!!!)
    3. Whenever I would ask a question, my superiors always made me feel as if I was stupid for asking and that me asking a simple question was a huge burden on them.
    4. I always felt like a 4 year old while working there, I would always catch any one of my managers eying me from somewhere else in the store to make sure I was doing everything I was supposed to.
    5. When you give me a 2-6 shift, i do not expect to be leaving at 7 if i am not going to be paid overtime. I had a 40 minute commute and other priorities in the day seeing as I'm a college student.
I could go on but that would take forever. I never write reviews for anything but I hated this job so much I felt compelled to. I worked from the end of October 2014 to the end of December..right before christmas eve. Yeah, I only worked two months and here's the best thing about it all (sarcasm) I was never fired...nor did I quit. I just have not recieved any hours in about a month. I've never heard of anything so unprofessional in my life. Do not work for this company. Do not work for this company. Do not work for this company.

    Pros

Good experience that helps you learn to treat other retail employees with respect and to understand what they have to deal with every time they work.

    Cons

The company has no room for growth. They seem to be set on keeping you beneath them, constantly bringing in people from other companies to fulfill higher up positions rather than using someone from their own line.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Express part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

pay was higher than other sales jobs

    Cons

management was always aggressive. did not allow you to work at any other clothing retailers by company rules- even if you are only part time. constant talk about sales goals even though the employees do not earn any commission.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

berating someone who gets paid minimum wage (or near it) is not going to motivate them to work harder for you. making them like you and respect you would be much more beneficial.
