I have been working at Exterran full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good training program, lots of opportunities to grow inside the company and the industry is growing rapidly

    Cons

Not always quick to promote unless you change positions, pay is below industry standards

  2.

I have been working at Exterran full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Lack of knowledge throughout, easy to define the curve

    Cons

Some managers more like used cars salesmen just empty promises. One particular director managed to mislead, manipulate, and made many promises that he never kept.
The policy of the company is according to the manger understanding at any giving situation.
No fairness or justice in that place...work hard and get rewarded with more work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Act on improving work conditions, stop supporting middle managers who don't know what they're doing.
Employees are people too, treat them the same way that you would like to be treated.

I worked at Exterran (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Employees are generally high-quality and hard-working. Depending on your department, there may be room to grow. The company is now about seven years old and seems to be developing a more formal work culture.

    Cons

Some financial instability in the past and cost cutting seemed to lead to lower earning potential. Since Brad Childers took the helm, there has been a perceived increase in the income gap between the officers and everyone else. Upper management seems to be more focused on increasing earnings and cutting costs in the past--a good thing--but the culture may have suffered somewhat because of it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More sharing by employees between departments would be beneficial. In any large organization, information can get lost between people, but Exterran is especially fragmented.

    Pros

Great company, great people. If you work hard, there will be always a person from management team to notice your effort. Work schedule can be adjusted to fit your needs. Opportunity is always there as long as you put an effort to achieve your goals and dreams. People are very friendly. Company participates in a lot of public events.

    Cons

There will be always a person or a group of people complaining about things with no solid reason, which kind of annoying and affects rest of the team performance. Not sure if there is something can be done about that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to keep good people in the company as hard as you can so they will not pursue another job opportunity just because of slightly higher paycheck.

    Pros

Great place to learn about the industry, most of the people are really great to work with, flexible with time off.

    Cons

I worked at Exterran as a contractor

    Pros

Good office building but the surrounding greenspoint area seems a little unsafe especially at nights. Co-workers and direct management were very nice to work with.

    Cons

Management had good intensions/goals but their approach was rudimentary. Even after giving the professional advice multiple times to management to streamline the process, they opted to go with their approach. Management over-committed to deliver solutions to users.
