    Pros

This is a great place for young people to learn and grow usable skills that will make you more valuable later in your career.

    Cons

It's sometimes very hard work. Smaller company, demanding clients, difficult problems to solve, and the use of complex technologies all make this a challenging environment. But, the pros (above) outweigh the cons, if you can take advantage of it.

    Advice to Management

Just try to make it more fun. Ask for a touch less. It will still be more than what anyone else asks for.

I have been working at Extraprise full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Freedom to create and implement anything that is good for the business - Challenging and meaningful work - Great collaboration and creativity from colleagues - Building solutions and working on technology to solve marketing's most nagging problems - Profitable, stable and strong performing business - Some of the brightest and hardest working people in the industry - Monday night ski club

    Cons

    - Work/Life balance can swing in the wrong direction if you let it

    Advice to Management

    - Share more often any updates (good, bad, ugly) about plans and progress toward the future vision of the company - Create a bigger resource pool for the grass-roots team to develop programs or "benefits" that improve the workplace for everyone

    I worked at Extraprise full-time

    Pros

Some of the people at Extraprise were people focused The Extraprise Connect monthly meeting - run by the employees not management - was fun The Boston office is in a great location if you take T or live in Boston Some senior managers are very good

    Cons

The President of the Extraprise (who works 10 miles away) made one appearance in our company in one year - and left a very negative impression during this visit Stock was promised to everyone and given to no one We lost our 401K match and bonus program Massive turnover at Extraprise Extraprise model is to squeeze employees - when employees leave positions are not filled Lots of broken promises

    Advice to Management

CEO should step aside and let senior managers, who get it, run the company Account services needs to be more focused on strategy and not operations Business model is broken, fix it Everyone in company, that I know, is looking for a job - figure out why The Board of Directors should do a deep dive and figure out what is going on before there is no one left and they lose their investment

  8. Not a fun place, but if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere

    I worked at Extraprise full-time

    Pros

Was a "stepping stone" in my career to more advanced position. Was able to get valuable experience/resume fodder which I parlayed into a more fulfilling position. There were some good talented people working here too.

    Cons

Management are bullies. There is a cliqueyness where various departments are clearly at odds making for an uncomfortable work environment. There is a "my way or the highway" attitude where certain key people in the company dictate policy. Since many of the principles had been at the same company for 10-20 years, there is a lack of will to implement outside the box solutions, and as a result there are a lot of legacy processes and systems. The company is predicated on underpriced labor rather than implementing efficient technology. There is no sane assessment of what new technology could provide. The management has zero concept of free time. No sort of overtime or comp time. You will be guilt tripped if you do not think this is a sane way to conduct business. Salaries and benefits seem to be below industry average.

    Advice to Management

Invest in good quality people, allow them to contribute their ideas, and treat them well.

I worked at Extraprise full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - The hours are reasonable, though, if you want to move up face time is important. - Co-workers are generally nice and helpful

    Cons

    - Little to no transparency between management and employees. - Production environment, very little room for creativity or new ideas. - Very little training, yet you are still expected to perform. - Opportunities for employees where discussed frequently, but never actually materialized.

    Advice to Management

    - Inform your employees of what is happening with the business. - Actually provide opportunities for professional development.

I worked at Extraprise full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very nice people to work with (non-management) like to work hard, play hard

    Cons

Everyone is pushed to the max with projects, meetings and internal projects. It is a silo'd work environment where heads are down just working on the multiples of projects per person. Not enough people are hired to work on projects, management is very old school and not available to work with other departments as required. No separate internal support team hired which puts the expectation and burden on current teams to add more time which they don't have to work on internal projects. Management team is stuck in the old days and needs to move the company into the current century.

    Advice to Management

Hire more experienced people not just college grads and reconsider direction of company

I worked at Extraprise full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you're a recent college grad, you can most likely get a job here. You'll leave the company having tons of experience. Work with clients on a day-to-day basis. Very little technical skills required to be hired. Raises are fair.

    Cons

Low pay compared to the industry and the amount of work you're doing. Raises are fair, but when your starting salary is so low it takes a few years to get up to a reasonable salary. No sense of community. Very high employee turnover. Probably 75% year over year. No recognition for your efforts. No overtime pay. No career opportunities. You're entry level, then after a few years they might make you "senior" entry level. Senior management (except for 1 or 2 people) just don't seem to care or understand their employee base.

    Advice to Management

Put your employees first and profit will follow.
