Great place to get your foot in the door

Systems Administrator (Former Employee) Morgan Hill, CA

ProsIf you really wanted, you could move into other departments like, HR, Accounting, IT, etc.

ConsThe pay was low, but most employees were recent grades and these were their first jobs.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to employees wants and needs.

Decent hourly pay, but staff and management were too paranoid of their workers.

Online Academic Coach (Former Employee) Morgan Hill, CA

ProsThere are cool, young people working here and a decent job for a college student.

ConsBe prepared to have management look over your shoulder, literally, watching you work.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave some trust in your coaches, or have a better interview process if you can't trust those you let in.

Being a coach is rewarding, but micro-management made it an unpleasant place to work

Online Academic Coach (Former Employee) Morgan Hill, CA

ProsConsistent part time hours, hourly pay is decent

ConsEmployees were lacking morale. I had an annoying lead that would constantly use the phrase "he, this is better than retail!" to motivate employees. I expect leaders to be passionate about the job they are doing--not surfing sports websites all day.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire better leaders who actually value the work we do as educators.

Most unethical place I have worked at. Unfair to employees and had a very unprofessional overall management team.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Morgan Hill, CA

ProsThe advancement and ability for the kids to excel academically. Good tight net relationships with fellow coaches who worked good as a team and shared similiar beliefs including observations of work environment.

ConsUnprofessional, extremely unfair to employees, unorganized most of the time, work description constantly changes almost every week, management team its unprofessional and demanding. Employees are just not treated right for the work that they do.

Advice to Senior ManagementChanges need to be made to the management team. More teamwork needs to be incorporated into the environment rather than constant demanding of employees. That is not they way to solve problems. Overall, the management team is extremely unprofessional and unorganized to say the least.

ConsUnorganized, Unstable, Recent Mass Layoff & branch closure.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to consider taking feedback from subordinates and reviewing it for growth and development.

    bad experience

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Prosuses the internet as a source of learning

Consseems like a menacing place where the staff just wants to have the spotlight solely on them. Doesn't value face to face interaction

Advice to Senior Managementdon't intimidate staff! use both face to face interaction and online tools! treat people with respect because they are more likely to flourish!

One of those jobs that I was not happy to go to every morning

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsIt's a good side/seasonal job for college students
It's a great cause: Offers free tutoring to low income families

ConsManagement and HR were not great at all, Very unenthusiastic work place, A lot of work to be done in a small amt of time, especially on the weekdays As an employee, I felt rushed/pressed to finish my work in order to take a full, required 15 minute break/30 minute lunch before returning to work

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement and HR needs to communicate with their employees more. Breaks were cut short because there was simply too much to complete before employees were forced to take their 15 or lunch.
