    Pros

Great place to work if you're a permanent ExxonMobil employee. Great Benefits. If you're a contractor & well liked, great stepping stone to getting a permanent position with this company.

    Cons

Contractors get worked extra hard & you get no respect because you're a contractor. If you're like you get a little respect.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more with contractors. Contractors do have great input also.

    Pros

Great pay and benefits for the amount of work. Shift work allows you to get things done while others are working

    Cons

Big oil egos and big corporate mentalities. Promotions not based on merit. Company has to meet quotas for hiring so they don't always hire the most competent

    Advice to Management

Stop with the quotas in hiring and promotions. Hire the most competent people because the workforce is turning over quickly and the burden to run operations safely falls on the few that are capable

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. Nice gifts given for achievement milestones made, at least at the plant I'm working at. People in general are nice.

    Cons

Management moved around too much. Part of the process to cross train and promote people, however, causes a lot of projects and basic supervisory and management items fall short. The company is so big they have everything globalized and not enough things taken care of within local region/area. Too many chains to go through for approvals to accomplish anything. Pay roll system is a nightmare. Checks are confusing to understand due to strange payment methods. Preventative maintenance is non-existent. Company does not put enough towards updating equipment and facilities, they have a run to failure outlook so equipment used until it breaks and a lot of things are ancient, 20, 30 years old. I'm just not impressed with the way things are ran where I'm located. Everyone is just another number in this large corporation. Also, 12 hour rotating shifts are awful on a person's health. Understaffed and work a lot of overtime and never get holidays off being a newer employee.

    Advice to Management

Fully staff areas of facility. Consider better work hours for operations, lab personnel for a healthier safer way to work people. Actually remember to fulfill supervision responsibilities if in that type of position to maintain fairness and orderliness in facility areas to prevent workers from taking advantage of others and the system.

    Pros

Salary is great. Work days are different each day with new challenges. Flexible schedule as long as you are taking care of your business I think is a fair

    Cons

Many negative people that love talking about conspiracies and how others are unfairly getting promoted. Spend more time doing this than working.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent and give low performers the closer they so desperately need.

I worked at ExxonMobil as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is a lot of opportunity for growth and development, and engineers are treated very well. Management consists of engineers, and all promotion is done from within.

    Cons

A lot of red tape and bureaucracy. Things get done slowly, but they usually get done right.
