I have been working at ExxonMobil full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Challenging work environment, job opportunities, salary, benefits, people, training

    Cons

Your career is owned by your direct supervisor/manager (not you) so if you have a bad relationship with your boss or they simply have their interests above yours then you can be stuck in an assignment or not in control of the next job you get. No 9/80s.

    Advice to Management

Allow employees to have more visibility in ranking and more say in new job opportunities

    Pros

    The best place to learn

    Cons

The place where a very poor outsourcing employment system is taking place

    Advice to Management

You do not have to follow the most week regulation country in outsourcing employment system even if you put Reputation as your last priority in emergency response

    Pros

The salary was good at ExxonMobil. They had quite a few benifits, Moving Assistance, Health Care. The company's salary was competitive.

    Cons

The people there were generally not very nice. It was a cuttthroat culture. People were mean, dishonest and overall out for themselves. Generally, not a fun place to work...

    Advice to Management

Be friendly to employees. Listen to their concerns and try to take all employees seriously. Be open to suggestions, even if it's not what you originally planned.

    Pros

As an employee, you are sure of a regular salary which if well-managed can give you a good life.

    Cons

Their is little to no growth for majority of the employees. There is no career part for the field technicians.

    Advice to Management

    Be human.

I have been working at ExxonMobil (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Graduate staff are young, enthusiastic and fun to work with. The technical work is interesting with a lot of responsibility upfront compared to other majors.

    Cons

Very red tape driven, little innovation and encourages conformance. Ranking system does not necessarily award employees based on merit and performance. It relies too heavily on one or two supervisor opinions. Supervisors are a mixed bag - some great but most lacking any vision and generally toe the company line.

    Advice to Management

Review the ranking system - most of your best leave the company.

I have been working at ExxonMobil full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Commitment to operational integrity and ethical execution of business practices. Strong emphasis on safety and operational excellence across all lines of business from the top to the bottom. ExxonMobil is a company that invests in an individual over their entire career and offers amazing benefits, while engaging employees in challenging and rewarding projects. Flexible work arrangements are very useful and have helped me tremendously.

    Cons

ExxonMobil is a large company and executing the various work processes can take time. Complexity of various systems is often unnecessary, or poorly communicated down the line. IT resources are somewhat outdated in some business units.

    Advice to Management

Consider improving on-boarding and assimilation for new employees. The ammount of information new employees must absorb can be overwhelming, and a lot is expected in the first week of employment.

I have been working at ExxonMobil (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Strong career focused company that affords its employees many opportunities to travel and work in all aspects of the company. They have an extremely strong executive leadership development program with many great people that work for the company. Additionally, the benefits, including pension plan and workplace flexibility policy help the make ExxonMobil one of the best companies you could work for in this day in age. Also appreciate the ranking system at the company the great rewards hard work, but is still fair to folks who are not top performers.

    Cons

Limited cons, but at the moment the one thing that sticks out is that the stock is flat over the last 10+ years

    Advice to Management

Continue to build the next generation of leaders and be sure to position the company to be flexible to the changing energy demands decades into the future
