I have been working at ExxonMobil

    Pros

Strong opportunities for younger employees, great place to develop project management skills, international exposure in first 2-3 years.

    Cons

Difficult to get exposure to senior management - numerous levels of management in between you; limited alternative work schedule options (no "9-80s").

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

"Loosen up a bit" ... Show more candidness and transparency - "fireside chat" style; bring more excitement/energy to what we are doing.

I have been working at ExxonMobil full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Conservative in spending and rarely have massive layoffs. Pays well, good benefits, getting there on technology; flexible work environment is great with management is on board.

    Cons

Managers that have no business being responsible for someone's career should not be allowed to manager people. CL is not enough. Were a bit behind on standard technology, forced ranking is outdated and, for lack of a better work, stupid.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    STOP FORCED RANKING!!!!!

I have been working at ExxonMobil

    Pros

Great pay and benefits for the amount of work. Shift work allows you to get things done while others are working

    Cons

Big oil egos and big corporate mentalities. Promotions not based on merit. Company has to meet quotas for hiring so they don't always hire the most competent

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop with the quotas in hiring and promotions. Hire the most competent people because the workforce is turning over quickly and the burden to run operations safely falls on the few that are capable
