I have been working at ExxonMobil full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Stable; good pay; great work-life balance; job mobility for professional staff

    Cons

Giant bureaucracy; wildly subjective promotion and ranking system; cult-like inbred corporate culture

    Advice to Management

It is a DULL place to work. The company is slow to act and too conservative to lead. It is a great and safe job but there are few new opportunities to make an impact. If management desires to foster an excited workforce they should try doing something new in any facet of the company - i mean anything.

I worked at ExxonMobil as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent base pay Great benefits on paper Feedback for career and input International opportunities High-impact company Safety-focused Switching roles every 18 months Challenging environment

    Cons

Peer-versus-peer ranking system Always on call, depending on your role: high potential for terrible work/life balance Military-like hierarchical structure Crawling with type-A competition

    Advice to Management

Give reports feedback often and think of how to keep the quality and standard for excellence and eliminate incentives that cause the many type-A competitived peers to be cut-throat
