    Stress, Inc.

    Technician (Former Employee)
    Hoffman Estates, IL

    ProsThe benefits are really good.

ConsNot much real training, you're ON YOUR OWN. No safety awareness/training.
The management is focused on increasing the output quantity AT ALL COSTS. They do use psychological torture and mind games to get what they want. If they don't get it, they accuse the employee(s) of industrial sabotage and fire them.
They could just train the employees better.
    Pay seems a little low.
Meetings during lunch, so it won't interfere with output.

Advice to Senior ManagementEmployees are real people, not robots.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Excellent place to work

    Product Development Engineer (Former Employee)
    Rochester, MI

    ProsVery cool technology.
Involvement in full product life cycle from board bring up, design, and development to testing, quality assurance, and support.
You work with very good/smart engineers.

ConsCommunication could be better. A lot of things a "secret" and shared little by little on a "need-to-know" bases.
Decisions can be a bit conservative.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work. Invest in your young engineers before its too late.

US Management team shed significant talent in spite of outstanding financial position of parent Co..

    Engineer (Former Employee)
    Rochester Hills, MI

ProsGood robot products and market penetration.

ConsIn spite of an outstanding financial position of its parent company, Fanuc Ltd. of Japan, the US operation still shed outstanding employees at the first sign of a downturn in business. If you want to be an engineer in the systems business or buy an integrated robotic system, forget Fanuc Robotics. They only want to sell bare robots and leave the integration business to others.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhy don't they communicate forcasted financial difficulties to employees to enable feedback necessary to secure aditional business and reduce operating expenses without major headcount reductions. Why was there no "All hands on deck" battle cry to give employees a chance to fight.

In spite of presentations by the President ,as late as Oct 2008, that forcasted 2008 results to be another record year in terms of number of robots sold, the company still slashed headcount significantly in Jan 2009. Why were these upcoming difficulties not communicated to employees?

Great while it lasted, but people don't generally retire from FANUC

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Pros3 weeks vacation after 2 years. 4 weeks vacation after 10. Ability to buy up to one weeks vacation every year plus the week of Christmas to New Years off.

ConsRaises and bonuses are not given out fairly and seems totally random at times. Let people get away with doing almost nothing and they get rewarded.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a better look at who you have at management levels and what they do on a daily basis. A good portion of them are not needed.

    good

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Prosit is a good place to work at unless you get contracted. it usually takes a half a year to get a direct hire.

Consit is usually only available through a contract company and not direct hire unless you have been there for quite a while

Advice to Senior Managementhire directly instead of going through contract companies that if they fail, all the employees working there will lost their jobs.
