    Your peers make your day!

    Pros

Good environment in the back of house.
    Managers were understandable and nice.

    Cons

Most employees still have a high school lunchroom mentality.

    Advice to Management

It wouldn't hurt to donate food that was gonna be thrown out to the homeless.

I have been working at FAO Schwarz part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

they are flexible with your schedule and the store isn't competitive which makes it a cool enviroment to work in. It's a toy store so it's fun.

    Cons

You get 1 raise a year and it's only a 20cent raise. I'm a stock associate & other associates and i are pretty good at what we do and we all get very low raise. Unless you're pushed up to a supervisor position, i think they get like a 50cent raise. Oh and the pay is bi-weekly.

    Advice to Management

I'll highly recommend to give us a better raise since we are waiting one whole year for it and that it shouldn't be a bi-weekly pay since everyone is trying to make ends meet but stay broke before the first week of pay.

    Pros

Work is easy. Flexible schedule. Nice location: across the street from Central Park. Holiday season hours are great. Demo people are cool.

    Cons

Not a lot of places to get lunch. Too much like high school. Cliques, Rumors, Drama etc. FAO/Toys"R"Us/Babies"R"Us employee is ten percent.

    Advice to Management

    Stop playing favorites.

    Pros

The atmosphere was relaxed and it is enjoyable, for the work I do the pay is very good.

    Cons

Not much room for upward mobility, other "favored" employees get the credit for your achievements at times. It can be very high school. Management can be hypocritical.

    Advice to Management

It would be best to "practice what you preach" management often berates employees for not doing their job properly but then proceeds to play ping pong in the rec room for hour on end.

  10. My experience is okay, i can't complain for a full-time college student but sometimes doesn't make ends meet at all.

    Pros

They are very flexible with your schedule. It's an easy job.

    Cons

After holiday season you get up to 13hours a week. The only way you will get more hours is if you've been working there for a long long long long time and if you're a full-time employee. If you have less than a year like me, good luck with that. And you only get a 10% discount....

    Advice to Management

The employee benefits suck and everyone should get an equal amount of hours.

    Pros

they work around your schedule. and most of the associates are nice and friendly.

    Cons

The senior managers etc really push people to go above and beyond for the customers however they dont go above and beyong for their associates. associates are expected to be perfect always.
